For what they charge, the portions are surprisingly large. It's like they are charging 2020 prices. The quality of food is much better than expected for a fast food place. The shrimp are large. The oysters are exceptionally large. The hush puppies are REALLY GOOD.
Interesting place. Their fry cook did a great job! Everything was cooked perfectly. A very filling portion of food! The shrimp was juicy and tender—not over-fried. I like the crab cakes they serve. Moist and great flavor! A meal will definitely fill you up. This location is in an old Long John Silvers restaurant.
My husband and I had a late lunch there today. The waitress was very friendly and polite. The food was excellent and plentiful with enough to bring home. I love oysters but I chose not to try their oysters after the waitress told me the oysters were large (I like them small), We both had a fried platter of fish, shrimp, chicken strips and fried mushrooms as an appetizer. Being from Louisiana and having an appetite for some good ole Cajun cooking, my pallet was pleasing satisfied....read full review

Sam's restaurant offers surprisingly large portions at 2020 prices. The quality of food is much better than expected for a fast place. Shrimp are large, juicy and tender, not over-fried. Oysters are exceptionally large. Hush puppies are REALLY GOOD and have corn in them. Crab cakes are moist and have great flavor. A fried platter of fish, shrimp, chicken strips and fried mushrooms makes a very filling meal. The breading is excellent and the food is fried to protection. Red beans and rice and Poboys are also here. The service is friendly, polite and down‑home. The fry cook did a great job and everything was cooked perfectly. People say the fish and shrimp are the greatest they have had in a long time. The crew is impeccable and the experience is priceless. Portions are plentiful and enough to bring home. Only issue was the wait in the drive thru, but the food is delicious and worth trying.
