“This location is the bomb. Their food is always so fresh and service is awesome. I and changing from Braums on south shields because I have been going to them for here for breakfast for 20 years and their customer service and food have declined. Hateful attitudes and they through your food in a bag. Carl's Jr always stacks the food in nice and neat and like I said always fresh. Kudos“

“I love the food at Carl’s Jr. The food is always fresh, tastes great, and I really appreciate that the burgers taste like real, quality meat. My only complaint is that every time I visit, even if I’m ordering something small or just a single burger, I’m asked to pull forward and wait for someone to bring my food out. I understand that the food is cooked to order, and I definitely appreciate getting it fresh, but the wait seems to happen every single time. Other than that, the food is awesome and I really enjoy eating here.“

“I have a mixed experience about this place.

I've been to this Carl's Jr. on N Portland more than I can remember, and honestly I think it all depends on when you go.

if you go weekday in the mornings, the breakfast there is genuinely good, the Frisco Sandwich is a must have, and the biscuits and gravy will definitely hit the spot.

The morning crew is friendly and keeps the line moving. The manager seems to be on top of game, and the food comes out great, hot and fresh. If this was my only experience, I'd give it 5 stars.

But evenings and weekends, completely different story. I've waited way too long at the drive-thru, dealt with staff who clearly didn't want to be there. There have been a couple times when I pulled up during posted hours to find the place dark and closed with nobody around.

Another time I got hit with what felt like a weekend price hike that I wasn't expecting.

Also, check your bag before you leave. I've had missing items more than once.

The building itself is a little dated, but that's not really the issue. It's the inconsistency. You just never know which version of this location you're going to get.

Bottom line: Worth it for weekday breakfast. The Western Cheeseburger and Beyond Famous Star are solid too if you catch them on a good day. But I wouldn't count on this place for dinner or a weekend run. Roll the dice if you want, but manage your expectations.“
