Et Al. is a restaurant in Tulsa's Cathedral District that features a collective of chefs who prioritize an equitable service operational model. They operate out of Foolish Things Coffee and were semifinalists for Best New Restaurant 2023 by the James Beard Foundation. They have six concepts, including Bischix, Butter Bar, Compaignon, Dumpling Night, Japanese Breakfast, and Pickles at the Barbecue.
One of the concepts, Dumpling Night, is a weekly Wednesday evening pop-up led by chef Colin Sato. It features Japanese food and beverages. The Pork Dumplings, Udon, Ginger Sake, and Pot de Cremé were mentioned as standout dishes. The service was described as exceptional, and the staff was warm and welcoming. The Pork garlic chive dumplings with Szechuan peppercorn oil were perfectly balanced, with the sharp bite of ginger and peppercorn oil calmed by delicate dough and aromatic filling, with perfect texture.
Another concept, Butter Bar, is a tasting menu experience led by chef Chloe Butler. The atmosphere is described as urban industrial with exposed ductwork, brick walls, and dim lighting. The service was excellent, with each member contributing to menu conceptualization. The tasting menu includes dishes like a cheese plate, roasted affogato, hot honey passion fruit tart, grilled pineapple tarte tatin, Kakigori, Wok Berries, S'mores, and Cloche. The Pot de Creme, a take on crème brûlée, was so impressive that one guest returned later just to have more.
Et Al. is a restaurant that prioritizes workplace equality and features a team-driven culinary vision. They have various concepts that offer a unique dining experience with exceptional service and delicious food. The staff is warm, friendly, and genuinely passionate about their craft, making every visit memorable. The prices are very fair for a downtown spot, especially considering the quality and presentation of the dishes. The overall vibe is described as immaculate, creating an inviting and enjoyable atmosphere.
