I was present to pick up my order as soon as it was ready. Lovely establishment and very friendly staff however I was not impressed with the food which is a premium price. I may try them again to see if I had caught them at a bad time.”

I recently came home from a trip in Bermuda and asked the bartender to make me a 'Bermudian Rum Swizzle' and Sawan did not disappoint! He nailed it right on the pin! The food was delicious and compliments to the chef! We also indulged in their tiramisu cake as our dessert and my goodness, the flavor! So fresh! The assistant manager Kiana and the staff were amazing!. In the past, we have avoided this location as the experience was never a positive one. However, this visit was was like being in an entirely different restaurant. The interior feels fresh, the service was outstanding and the food was really good. We will definitely be returning.”

The staff are incredibly friendly and efficient, ensuring you're in and out in no time. The coffee is always fresh and perfectly brewed, and the food is equally impressive. Sandwiches and baked goods taste like they just came out of the oven.

With a smile on his face he had more energy than I did at 2am and this subway is worth the drive. Only subway in Ajax that does it right! And he generously adds the toppings with no fuss. “I stopped for lunch on the 23rd of December while traveling through. It was insanely busy and as expected the order has some hiccups. But the manager on duty was extremely kind, very professional and so personable. She clearly was trying her best during the chaos and I have to commend her for that. “This location has gone completely downhill. It's absolutely disgusting inside. All 4 garbage bins overflowed, as a result almost every table had food containers and wrappers on them. The floors were filthy, with ketchup packets, wrappers, straws under the tables. Even the kitchen floor where the food was being prepared was strewn with food.

And worse, the staff was just standing around chatting, like as if there was no work to be done. They were oblivious to the mess in their surroundings.

Obviously, management has lost all discipline here. Corporate needs to step in and right this ship.”

“it was a positive and negative first visit. lovely placed when we showed up. order was taken within a couple minutes. half hour later, not seeing our waitress the whole time, had to ask the other one if she could see what was going on with our order. she immediately seated us at a better order and took our order again. the original waitress then came over interrogating us on whether we just made a whole different order. I explained the situation. she read what she thought was our order, and it wasn't. when she finally came back with our food she claimed the order ticket had fallen on the ground. no apologies, simply excuse after excuse. even after all that, something as simple as she didn't bring the gravy yet also charged for that. I would recommend to the kitchen to put the fruit in a bowl as it made a plate full of liquid under the rest of my breakfast. the food was absolutely delicious and the one waitress was very helpful. but I probably won't return after this experience. hoping it's just a one off bad day”

It’s become a family tearoom going here on a weekly basis. When I was pregnant with my second, this place was a life saver for me. I craved the pizzas regularly.”

“Big difference in taste and size from the original Mona's but don't let that affect your judgement. If you look at it as a standalone place it is good food and although no doubles and aloo pies, the Greek and jerk combos are wayyyy more. Breakfast wise... No doubles so a curry potato roti is the carb load you need. I forgot to ask for the skin with sauce here, but also a good alternative.

It's a very trendy package and I can see why the tik toks and Instagram guys are liking this. I would definately recommend this for catering a business lunch for a cosmopolitan palette.

“This is a nice boba shop that’s hidden away. I’ve had their lychee juice, roasted milk tea and plain bubble waffle. The drinks are good and the price is better than the usual boba chains. The bubble waffle had a nice crunch on the outside and decent chewy goodness on the inside. It was a tad buttery which I’m not a fan of but it didn’t stop me from finishing it.”

Chicken biryani and veal biryani are flavourful and always fresh. Chicken comes with a thigh and leg. For the price, it could use more chicken. The raita is good too and has a subtle spice.

The rolls are the main event. Chicken and beef rolls are always great. Wasn't a fan of the chicken bahari. The chicken tikka roll was a little dry for my liking. Rolls are doused with a lot of onions and a mayo type sauce - I always ask for less or 50%. You have to ask for spice, it's not automatically added. It is spicy so be ware of how much you ask for.

The chicken tikka from the BBQ menu (not the roll) is perfectly cooked with the right amount of char, ensuring the meat is tender with crispy skin edges, and spice.

Parathas are always fresh too and reheat well the next day.

The food is more on the pricier side for portions/quantity of meat.

I don't know which of their customers requested for cheese, hot peppers and whatever else to be added to their menu, but without trying it I can tell you that it will ruin/compromise flavor in the rolls. Leave that for your burritos and hot dogs. Don't be a fool and go for the extra toppings, just stick to the original.”

“The best Chinese food in Durham by far.Their food is delicious (black pepper chicken is now my new favourite) and they really fill the containers! The prices are great for the amount and quality of food you get. Most importantly the staff have always been amazing. I’ve been ordering for over 5 years and they go above and beyond to make their customers happy (they include lots of pepper every time that I ask, they’ve rushed to make an order right after opening so I could get it to deliver it for lunch, their delivery times are always a few minutes early, etc.) this definitely is a local small business whose deserves five stars and support! “I first was introduced to Val & Patsy's when they were at Pickering Flea Market. Was there every Sunday and on the way out stopped and grabbed my food. When flea market closed figured everything shut down so looked at different places. Some were so so others just ok, As I was driving I guess over a year ago on Monarch Avenue in Ajax saw a sign posted on the boulevard. When I walked in to my surprise saw Patsy. I was so glad as there are no places that I searched for held a candle to this place. Val and Patsy's don't know how do but have a unique flavor that my taste buds can't get enough. Been a loyal customer since that day found and if any of you check out not only will understand my review but bet you also will find your nook in the corner for Island Food.”
