The servers were kind and the food was good, so I do want to acknowledge that. However, the overall atmosphere felt very uncomfortable. From the moment we walked in, the elderly gentleman at the reception and several other guests gave us prolonged stares. I’m not sure if it was because we had a young baby with us or because of my husband’s ethnicity, but it felt unwelcoming and awkward. It gave the impression that unless you’re over 50 and white, you don’t quite fit in...
Some of the best food I’ve ever eaten, including at great restaurants in major European cities. The flavors were amazing, and everything was cooked perfectly. Service was just what you’d want for fine dining - unpretentious but attentive, and all this within a spectacular mansion. Wow!
My wife and I stayed at Woodview and had dinner at their restaurant. The experience was just great. We were greeted by John, one of the owners. Our meal was superb, with lovely service, in a charming ding room. Breakfast was different and really neat... a well stocked cooler of fresh fruit, muffins, cheese, granola bars, rolls, juice, fruit salad, and more.
A lovely spot, with welcoming staff. We will definitely return.
