“This family run restaurant is a hidden gem. I have tried many Pad Thais and this restaurant has the best Pad Thai I have ever had. This restaurant is most accommodating in helping my son, who has gluten and soy sensitivities, find things he can eat. I wish they were closer to me because I would frequent their establishment much more often. Definitely a place to go. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐“

“Ordered on skipthedishes to a clients house at my very serious blue collar job. Me and crew chief ate in the car but ran into an issue - it was delivered without any cutlery or napkins. We ended up ripping up the containers and using them as spoons. We made a mess but it was delicious. I just got back from Thailand a couple months ago and I can say this rivalled some of the food I had there. Really quite good“

“Love this restaurant. Impressive menu, delicious food. Reasonable prices. Our only complaint is we felt rushed.. the main dish arrived before we were done with the appetizer. We like taking our time and savouring the food specially when it is so tasty. The staff is very friendly. We will definitely go back and request to slow down a little on the service so we can fully enjoy the experience.“

“We live in the neighborhood and finally decided to stop in for some food, and boy are we glad we did! This will definitely be our new local takeout spot. “Literally so good. I was in thailand like 3 months ago for Christmas and the flavor was spot on. The yellow curry and yuzu lemonade were 10/10, also the vibes are so cozy and hugo was the best waiter, super friendly and always smiling. Definitely coming back 🙌
Extra tip: try the strawberry shortcake for dessert you will love it.“

“Finally today, I decided to go back to Thai Express. I work just across the street and due to bad customer service from my previous experiences, I avoided the place. Today, I thought to give them another chance, and I thought to myself that I would just suck it up on the bad service. Well, I received burnt food for takeout. Customer service was finally improved because the regular girl cashier no longer worked there, but how could you possibly serve customers burnt food? You can smell it as you were cooking and you can see the blackness. There's a snow storm out so I didn't bother to go back, so I had to eat this terrible food I paid for. The franchisor of Thai Express really should be aware of this place, I have heard nothing but horrible things about them. And once again, they have proved everyone right.
UPDATE*** There's a new owner at this location and they have honestly changed this place around. The food is delicious, the customer service is superb. I am truly impressed with the new staff and happy to come back here over and over again. Thank you!“

“Best restaurant I’ve been to in Gatineau. Food is super flavourful. Texture is great, rice was perfect, big portion size. Although it’s not spicy, next time I’ll ask for extra spice. Everybody gave us amazing service. The chef even came out to greet us during our meal.
Will definitely be back again. Cant wait to try more food.“

“I love Thai food, and Thai Express is usually my go-to when a craving hits. I’ve tried almost all the locations in Gatineau, and as we all know, every place cooks a little differently. There are two Thai Express restaurants near me in Plateau, but I wasn’t too impressed with them.
Then I tried this location — and wow, it was so tasty! It’s about a 25-minute drive from my home, but I’m more than willing to make the trip because the food is that good.
My only complaint is the limited hours: it closes at 4 p.m. Monday to Friday and is closed on weekends (since it’s inside a government building).

“The food was absolutely amazing. We had the mango salad, pad thai and spicy eggplant and seafood stir fry- all excellent. The red curry was a tad sweet but really wasn’t bad. I would recommend they clean the mirror behind the bar. All the dusty wine bottles weren’t pleasant to look at while dining. But the food and service were truly five stars.“
