“Stopped here on Sunday and really enjoyed our visit! Our server was enthusiastic and friendly, we ordered a couple different curries along with samosas and pakora. Everything was delicious and came out fast. The naan was great and clearly had been made fresh in a real tandoori. The portions were generous and we ended up taking a bunch of food home with us. I ate the rest for lunch today and it was just as tasty! We will be back :)“
“On way to Montreal, had a stop over for Pakistani lunch at Naan Stop on the recommendation of my son Ahmad Jamal who had been their customer during his studies at Queens University. Lunch was delicious, ample quantity, garma garam taway ki roti with chappal kabab ... shandar. For Indo Pak customers, lota was available in washroom. A must visit place to enjoy hospitality of professional, family like people.“
“I’ve been ordering from them pretty regularly ever since I moved to Kingston, six years ago. I’ve tried many of their dishes, and I always add cucumber raita and peas pulao, and they’ve all been wonderful and flavourful. The portions are a great size, the garlic naan is always warm, fresh and delicious. There are also many tasty vegetarian options.Note: I’ve seen a few complaints about having to order rice on the side - I’ve eaten at South Asian restaurants all over North America, and it’s been a very common experience to order rice and extra dishes separately so I’d ignore them.“
“Best Indian food in town.We went to Mint Leaf when we were on the west end. The restraunt was pretty full for a Monday afternoon.Food: We got the tandoori wings and chicken korma. The korma was delicious! It was so filling. The wings were good too but I may not get them again. The Naan (butter) was delicious and warm!Service: The servers were very nice but very slow, it took over an hour for our food to be ready.Price: fair price for the quality and quantity.Accessibility: moderate noise level, mix of booths and tables, many vegetarian options.“

“I’ve been coming here for years. The food is authentic and the best in Kingston. I’ve tried quite a few restaurants. Very well maintained facilities, great family owned and operated. 1 of the only 2 restaurants I like to eat at. Butter chicken recipe hasn’t changed since I’ve been going & it’s perfect, creamy, flavorful, & rich. Just writing this reviews makes me wish they were open. 10 out of 10“

“Quite simply, Darbars is the best Indian restaurant in the Kingston area (trust me, I've tried them all!).My family and I are originally from the UK, although we've lived in Kingston for >20 years now. We've always loved Indian food and Darbars is better than most of the Indian restaurants we used to love back in the UK (of which there were many!). Not only is the food seriously good, but their portions are noticeably larger than other restaurants. Any one of the their main meals is easily enough for two adults. When we have a family "occasion" and I ask what everyone wants, they invariably ask for "a Darbars" ... and I never argue! I love their Lamb Madras; but it is perhaps a little hot for many tastes. My wife's favorite is the Lamb Korma. The Chicken Tikka Masala is also fantastic. I can honestly say that we've never been disappointed in all the many years we've been ordering food from there. I even enjoy the banter with the staff there about Indian vs English cricket!They are most definitely worthy of 5 stars.“
“Ordered takeout - two entrees (Chicken Madras) & two na'an. Quality of the chicken was great - not chewy or stringy. Spice level was spot-on. Na'an was a little doughy, but better than most na'an in the city - I don't know if that's a compliment or an indictment on the state of Indian food in the YGK.Quote was ~20-25 minutes and the food was ready upon arrival. Staff is always friendly.One negative, if I had to nitpick - not wild about the value for the money. Chicken Madras ($19.95) and na'an ($5.50) is wild. CO seems to be one of the few Indian restaurants in town that doesn't include Papadum with their entrees - it must be an extra charge. Almost all of their entrees are a few dollars more than other similar restaurants in town. I guess they would point to the economy, rent, etc.“
“We went last night for the greatly advertised buffet only to be told there was no buffet tonight and they do that only when they want! Service was slow and minimal. Had to chase someone down after waiting 20 minutes to get our naan and 1 meal we were missing. Once we got the food it was decent. They need to update their offerings and advertising if the buffet isn't really a daily offering. Also need to work on customer service and coordination with the kitchen. Once they get that tuned up we will be back but not until. It's unfortunate because when I went for a lunch buffet a few months back the food was quite good.“
