Cocktails were creative and tasty. Appetizers were excellent, especially the beef tartare, lobster carpaccio, low temperature egg and the escargot. The mains were hit or miss. The beef tenderloin was cooked perfectly and the demi glaze was succulent. However, the bison tagleitelle and the lamb shank were both lacking in the sauces/jus. The sauces/jus were almost non hesitant thus the overall dishes were lacking in flavour. Overall I would return to enjoy the unique cocktails and appetizers, but try different mains.

Amazing food, definitely a staple of Uptown Waterloo. The beef tartare was served in the bone, with crunchy chips. The Low Temp Egg is a must try! The flavour is quite umami. We had the lamb and lamb shank for entrees. The creme bruelee dessert was interesting, the raspberry was feathered into each bit and it was quite fruity. The non-alc drinks were good and made with non-alc spirits.

Had some truly spectacular PEI oysters with a lovely mingionet and hot sauce. A great gin cocktail. Did the Bison Bucatini for the main and finished with an Oban.
Service was great and food and drinks were fantastic.
Will come back next time I'm in town.

As a chef, foodie, winelover and busy mom, there is no place I would rather be. I show up, they always have an amazing tasting menu with wine pairing, I don't have to think about anything! Just sit back relax and enjoy! How rare to not have to decide and know you're going to love it. They are so great with mine and my husband's allergies, provide perfect substitutes that match the meal and never make us feel guilty about it. And what does one feed a chef? This! Amazing staff, amazing atmosphere, I highly recommend S&V Uptown.
