The falafel was incredible, and the fava beans were delicious and beautifully presented. The presentation was like a piece of art — you can really see the passion behind the food.

Last year I paid around $40 for a similar meal, so I was surprised that today it was only $28. Amazing quality, great taste, beautiful presentation, and a very reasonable price.

In fact it was one of the best I’ve had anywhere in the world! The shawarma was also excellent. “We are a group who booked for the all you can eat buffet to celebrate a friend's birthday. The variety and quality of the dishes was amazing, good value. They even brought a plate of freshly made stuffed vine leaves to the table, still piping hot. (My only quibble: a few of the dishes were just warm/tepid/cool. Not easy to keep everything at the right temperature with a buffet.) There was something for everyone, whether you are a vegetarian or a meat or fish eater. My particular favourite: stuffed courgettes/zucchini - delicious. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Convenient parking out front. We will be back.“

“This is a gem of a small Shawarma place tucked away in a little residential plaza in Urbandale with other great food options.

The chicken was cut right off the spit and delicious, tender and cooked right.
Salad was FRESH CUT (firm as it should be) and with LOTS of peppers in all colours 👍
We asked for rice only for carbs.
The pink turnips were delicious and not bitter and the hummus was fresh and tasty 😋
This is our 3rd time here and we’ll be back for more.
My tummy is still happy 😊 hours later which says a lot for a good take-out place.“

“Well, nothing can be said against the food. This is probably Gatineau's best tasting shawarma. The hummus, tahini and garlic are damn-near perfect. The chicken and beef are also top notch and perfectly cooked. Absolutely delicious.

HOWEVER, this is NOT the place to satiate a moderate to big appetite. The portions are stingy. The large pita sandwich should be the small, and actually, compared to the better Ottawa shawarma destinations, LaZone's large pita is definitely a small and this is not an exaggeration in the slightest.

SO!? Do you get what you pay for? Only if top quality is your bottom line. If you want stomach-filling shawarma in this area, Le Palais is your palace. If you want to savour every delicious bite to stretch your pita out while you wait for your stomach to shrink, LaZone is your zone.“
