Baretto Caffe

6 YEARS LATER. This is not your typical review. To be honest, it is 6 years late. I visited Toronto with my girlfriend (now wife) in August 2019 and we stumbled into this place one morning. It's tucked away in an unassuming location, so we weren't thinking much of it. Immediately we knew we made the right choice for breakfast. I have never been to Italy, but this felt as close as possible. Completely authentic in every way, from the Italian foodstuffs you could buy to the music to the staff. We ordered a simple egg dish and it was exceptional. Even the bread was perfect. I also got a double espresso and the owner gave it to me, on the house, in exchange for a Google review. To this day, it was the best espresso I've ever had. In just a few sips I felt connected to my ancestors, the earth, and God. The world slowed down. I was finally at peace. I regret that it took me this long to write my review, but I am at long last holding up my end of the deal. Quite honestly, I still think about this espresso, caffe, and the kindness of the staff every few months. When we come back to Toronto, we will be coming back here. Every time. You should, too. You will literally never forget it. It's that good.

Had a wonderful experience at Baretto Cafe! Tried their pesto pasta and it was absolutely amazing — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The ginseng coffee is a must-try; it’s so unique and unlike anything I’ve had before. Also, their chocolate croissant is incredibly flaky and delicious, the perfect treat with coffee.

Service was excellent — our server, Rasma, was so warm, attentive, and made the experience even better. Definitely a place I’d recommend for great food, coffee, and hospitality!

If you've never been to Italy and you want a cozy place, great Italian drinks and food, go here. And if you see the owner catching a breath be curious and learn something new - ask for suggestion of a drink or food to try, be curious, he's a treasure and a great human. I could see why his place was recommended to me. You can go alone or with friends or event talk to organize a bigger event since there's a space your group or network could use more privately.
You can enjoy your morning drink and breakfast with a lovely view and an inspiring design on the surface. Clearly someone knows how to leave a mark...
I'll come back because it's business with heart.👏

My husband and I are from out of town. We come here every 6 weeks and we have never been disappointed. The owner is very welcoming, kind and thoughtful. The service is excellent, they go on and above 👍

The Lasagna and Rose Penne with Chicken at Barreto Caffe was awesome :)

The Lasagna was awesome and is a really well made lasagna with a good amount of cheese :) If you are craving a good lasagna would definitely recommend the lasagna here.

The Rose Penne with Chicken was awesome. The penne pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. The rose sauce was flavourful and went well with the penne pasta and chicken.

The salad and bread were also good.

Went yesterday with 20 of my church sisters. we were treated like royalty , This really is a must The coffee is the very best the service first class thank you We have made it our monthly gathering place. no loud music. which is wonderful. Thank you
