You can see the Japanese style in there. I remembered the old movies in my childhood. We ordered a boat with 40 pieces, and we enjoyed it. The price was fair. Regarding services, they were late taking our orders because there was a staff shortage. I went to the front desk to say we were hungry! The rest of the meal was great. It was the coziest place in a restaurant I’ve ever experienced.

One of the restaurant staff/lady March 28, 2025 (dine in)was very unfriendly. Informed me that they were all reversed tables, however when I asked what was the wait time for walk-in, she came back in two seconds and directed me to a table, and had the audacity to inform me that this table is reversed and it’s only available for one hour. I said no problem. However, the thing that was upsetting was when a group of 3 entered after me ( five minutes later) and they too did not have any reservations were immediately directed to a table without being told all were reversed tables with no time deadline. Totally disappointed, I have been going to this venue very often. Not coming back

It looks like sushi from supermarket and I can get it from Loblaws for $15🤣 This demonstrates how important the store location is - it's smart that they choose this area where competition is less. If it were in downtown I bet the restaurant won't last for 3 years. By the way, the fish on the roll is so thin. They must have very good knife to cut it as thin as paper, bravo 👍🏻
NYE plans were changed last minute, and we ended up trying Gonoe Sushi. It's a smaller restaurant, clean, nicely decorated and not cramped at all. Place was full and we didn't have reservations but luckily they were able to fit us in. Server was so courteous and attentive even though they were extremely busy both with eat in and take out. The people coming to pick up their orders all seemed to know the staff, so I assume there's a fair amount of regular customers. Food arrived quickly and everything was fresh, delicious and well portioned. The tempura batter was a little different than we're accustomed to, so I'd say that was the only slightly negative of the entire meal - but still good. We had some appetizers, Bento box and various sushi. We'll definitely come back!!
