“Sushi was really good. We tried to walk in and order, there was some confusion and then we were told to come back in an hour. There are a couple of small tables, but it really isn't an eat in place.
Next time we'll order ahead.“

“True to their name, their sushi is indeed gourmet. Each roll has its own unique taste, unlike other sushi shops in the same price range that have a common base and just add different sauces and call it a different roll. Definitely an affordable treat for evenings you want to chill at home and order takeout.
Recommend: takoyaki, oshinko yam roll, and aburi dragon of any type.“

“We went there Just for a Lunch Stop. When we saw the Pictures of the Hand pulled noodles we couldnt resist to try. IT really was a great expirience. Every Portion of noodles gets pulled individually and IT tasted amazing. Broth was clar ans U could ad chilli past and Soja Sauce in your own. Best to try for your self.“

“This is the best sushi in ottawa and so cheap for such quality! My husband and I got the takoyaki, a mt.Fuji roll, spicy salmon roll, kamikaze roll as well as a platter of sashimi thay came with a small side salad and delicious miso soup and with tip we still spent under 100$!!!
Staff was amazing and so quick and polite, everything was super clean and so quiet as well.
Will be coming back here this is my new favourite restaurant <3“

“This place has become my go-to for sushi—reliable, fresh, and definitely a good bang for your buck. The salmon skin roll is my absolute favorite: crispy, savory, and always hits the spot.
Everything I’ve tried has been super fresh, and the portions are generous without breaking the bank. It’s quality sushi that delivers every time.
Would definitely recommend if you’re looking for a dependable spot to satisfy your sushi cravings without splurging.“

“Love this place!
The sushi is high quality and well priced. They offer plenty of vegetarian options, unlike most places that only have an avocado roll or a generic “mixed veggie” roll. The mushroom tempura and crispy lettuce rolls are especially delicious.
Excellent food, excellent service. I don’t get my sushi anywhere else!“

“Great vibe, friendly staff and the food was amazing. We come here regularly and always have a great dinner. The food is quick, the service staff are very pleasant, always let us know what we've ordered, regularly come back to refill our tea & water. There's paid parking out front, but free parking on side streets and walking over (takes 30 seconds)“

“The BEST sushi in Ottawa. You can taste the quality. The sushi is fresh, lots of flavour, large tempura bites, big pieces of fish and decent prices. This has become a weekly spot that never disappoints. TIP: Always call when they first open and state when you’d like to pick up. This avoids any waiting as they are always SUPER busy.“

“Great spot for quick, fresh sushi and poke bowls! The fish is high quality, and the poke bowls are flavorful with generous toppings. Service is friendly but a bit slow during peak hours. Overall, a solid choice for a quick, healthy meal. Will definitely return!“

“Shinka sushi bar must be the best sushi place I have been to in Ottawa especially for the atmosphere. The food was just a wow, great combinations, fresh fish, optimal flavouring, everything just felt right. I really recommend the Senshi if you love the cheese on sushi combination, have to order this every time we had food from Shinka. If you are a fan of fried sushi definitely pick the Tenji instead dragon roll or Kazu because the flavours truly hit as the crispness is very complimented with fresh avocado instead of everything “greasily” fried like normal fried sushi. But the best one overall for me must be the Subarashi, it is a dine-in only plate for a reason as the fish is kept fresh, this will fit best if you love the fish part of sushi.
Another thing was that I hoped Shinka add more drink options to the menu since it was just mostly alcohol (and ofcourse water, pops and hot tea). But a very bonus point would be because we went during noon and we were kind of the first customers so the place felt so private and cozy for us. Very fun and good experience, I really love and recommend Shinka and 100% will come back.“

“Extremely fresh ingredients, extra crispy onions on top and perfect other ingredients-rice ratio.
It's not cheap, but also quality comes with a price most of the times. I forgot that here in Canada prices are displayed without taxes, I was hoping to pay 17 dollars for this dish, but I ended paying almost 20.“

“Went early on a Saturday--no wait, hostess was very sweet and attentive. Food arrived quickly, absolutely delicious! We shared an order of takoyaki, okonomiyaki, and chashu don. The okonomiyaki is a specialty item, and absolutely worth it! The store itself is lavishly decorated with posters and toys, many of which are for sale. They also run a seasonal Gachapon--you earn plays based on your bill total. Very fun, a wonderful place to gather with friends.
Aisle were wide enough to pass a walker through but there are steps leading up to the restaurant, music and lighting were mellow“

“I had an amazing experience at rice n roll - the staff were so lovely and friendly and happy to help. The food was delicious and reasonably priced, the tofu poki bowl was so flavourful and so much was included for $23! Would recommend this to anyone looking for a delicious meal!“

“Sushi Village looks old from the outside and fits right in the Ottawa style.
The food is good and the sushi fresh. I regularly frequent this establishment on a monthly basis and they always deliver in terms of quality price.
The all you can eat is always my go to option as I know I will have a blast of good food and good service.“
“First of all, the service is fantastic. The two ladies are always very kind ( they might give you a little extra as well ). The food is delicious, the best in the area, and it gets done quickly. The only downside is that it's in a university cafeteria, so there's a lot of people around, and it's noisy.“

“I enjoyed a very pleasant meal, General Tao's chicken, with a side of white rice (additional charge), and the Pepper Soft shell crab appetizer at Bambu's. My dining colleagues had a variety of dishes which were all also enjoyed. Service was friendly and attentive, and the TGIF wine special FANTASTIC. Bambu is a nicely decored restaurant and highly recommended for a nice casual meal“

“Sushi Fresh took a wet, tired evening in the ByWard Market and quietly turned it into something almost luminous. Rain was still clinging to coats when the door closed behind and the room wrapped everything in a softer light. The staff moved like they actually cared whether the day ended well. Small questions, careful glances, water glasses topped up before they were empty. Nothing showy, just a calm intention that settled the table and slowed the clock a little.
Then the sushi arrived, all together on the most beautiful plate I have ever seen. A long wooden board, smooth and warm, carrying five specialty rolls laid out like a painter’s last careful strokes. Colour everywhere. Deep reds, pale greens, small sparks of orange, each piece holding its place as if it had rehearsed it. For a moment it felt wrong to touch anything. The first bite broke the spell only to build a new one. Rice with the right weight, fish that tasted clean and alive, sauces that whispered instead of shouted. Sharing those rolls in that quiet bubble of warmth while the rain kept falling outside felt strangely intimate. It was only dinner, yet walking out it felt like the kind of small, perfect scene the mind keeps for days when it needs proof that beauty still shows up without warning.“
