The Cupcake Lounge - Byward

Cupcake lounge is great. We couldn't find gluten free dessert anywhere and I called to coordinate and they were more than happy to accommodate thank you!!

The worst customer service. I think the owner was at the place and had the most blunt responses to questions about cupcake flavours. Did not make any eye contact and was almost annoyed that we were there despite it being empty… would never recommend for anyone. Don’t go there.

Horrible customer service. If I could give 0 star I would. I believe the owner was there and was horrid. She would not make any eye contact and was annoyed when we would ask questions regarding the flavours. Her answers were rude and blunt. It was as though she wanted us to leave without buying anything. I hope their store closes down. Horrible people = horrible cupcakes.

Tried for the first time, as I was craving a sweet and wanted to go to a new spot. Unfortunately, I feel a bit of regret, I found the cake a bit dry on the cupcake and the icing too sweet. I couldn't finish it, and feel like for over $5 a cupcake, it could have been better. Maybe it was just the flavour I tried, but not the best.

I ordered a custom cake for a surprise birthday party. I specified the flavors in the cake. The day of the party when I picked it up, they had gotten the flavor of the cake wrong. They didn’t apologize about their mistake and ruining my surprise party. After much back and forth they finally agreed to make the right cake and didn’t offer anything else to make things right. I had to go back the next day to pick up the cake. Awful customer service! Definitely not worth the price!

Tried a Red Velvet cupcake that was recommended as amazing…
The icing tasted like pure butter and the cake was dry…That’s in addition to the garbage inside being overflowing, no garbage available outside, and a sense from the cashier that us walking in (there was one other customer inside) was a nuisance.

The red velvet cupcake was very good - there's a lot of icing, and it wasn't too sweet!

The service is absolute joke. No matter when you go or who will be behind the counter, everybody will give you attitude no matter what. Extremely overpriced. Their cupcakes are good, but not worth it anymore. I have been buying them for years and the service has ALWAYS been terrible. I have overlooked it because we liked them, but not after today. I order and paid 80+ for 2 dozens of the mini (extra tiny) cupcakes (plus 5 big ones) and when I question the size I got nothing but bad attitude and rude answers. I was told to write to head office (i did) because thats how the things were. I was also told that every mini(tiny) cupcake is A QUARTER of a big one, yet you still pay HALF PRICE of a big one.... something doesn't quite add here. And before you think they take the mini(tiniest) cupcake by cupcake to do the frosting, they do not, its clearly done with pipping bag.
I am overwhelmed and disappointed. I feel completely mislead and now with cupcake bites for a kids birthday party.
NEVER AGAIN !

Really disappointing. Firstly, $17 for three cupcakes is absurd. When I looked online, the cupcakes looked pretty big. They are small. I took a chance and bought my sister the vanilla chocolate, she said it had absolutely no chocolate flavor and it was just ok. The buttercream icing was lacking flavor as well, heavy on the butter. The vanilla cupcake was sadly dry, again lacking any character. I would not waste your money here, I genuinely wish I had not.

I didn’t realize they closed at 5 today because of the holiday however I was still there 5 min before close and they wouldn’t let me buy anything. I just wanted 1 cupcake to go. The case was full of cupcakes. Went somewhere else.

Whilst not cheap, they offer very nice cupcakes with a convenient delivery service which allowed me to order cupcakes from the UK to someone in Ottawa! They have a big selection and I would recommend them in the future!

The variety was good, but I prefer a more moist cake.
