We’ve been here a few times and it’s always been really good. Some of the best chicken burgers I’ve ever had. Tonight though I noticed a very hard and very charred piece of something on my burger. Just one piece so I was a little confused and told the server. I was then told after she asked the kitchen that that’s just the way it’s cooked and that I should just scrape it off and continue eating. I don’t think I’ve ever had any situation like that “resolved” by being told to “scrape it off” and avoid the gross bits!!! I’m not sure what’s happened but the quality did not compare to our previous visits and I was really disappointed.
Went for a special event and it was a great time. They could have used some cocktail tables for people to stand at and put their food/drinks down
Loved the vibe and ambiance that The King Eddy exudes! I love diners and when it’s an amazing place with even better food, I’m gonna sing it from the rooftops! This is one of those places!
Fantastic place in the market. Very cute decor, great service and super clean. In the summer they have a great spacious patio too. I highly suggest having the chicken sandwich and the soups. You won’t regret choosing this place.
Queen Benny was spectacular. However, Morning Glory was just okay.
Zak's, but for people who know what's up.
Nice place to enjoy the brunch with good environment and good decor
Stopped in with friends on a whim and greatly enjoyed our dinner. Was hopping on a Sunday night and had to wait about 10 to 15 mins for a table for 4.
Service with a smile in a reasonable amount of time. Ordered the Kung Po salad, fried chicken and Eddy burger. All were a hit and very enjoyable. Special note for the fried chicken, batter, crunchiness, and cook were all perfect and reminiscent of what you get down south! 😋 Yummy! Worth the stop while in the Byward Market.
I recently visited this brunch spot and was genuinely impressed by the food — especially the salmon eggs Benedict. It was perfectly executed: the salmon was fresh and flavorful, the poached eggs were just the right consistency, and the hollandaise sauce was rich without being overpowering. It’s clear the kitchen takes pride in their dishes, and it definitely shows in the quality of the food.
However, the customer service left something to be desired. While the staff wasn’t rude, they seemed somewhat disinterested and inattentive. We had to flag someone down a couple of times for refills and to get the check, which took longer than expected. There was little engagement or warmth from the servers, which was disappointing given the inviting atmosphere and great food.
All in all, I’d return for the salmon Benedict alone — it really is that good. But I do hope they work on elevating the service to match the excellence coming out of the kitchen.
Went here for brunch on a Saturday morning (~10:30am). It wasn’t even that busy, half the tables were empty. We waited more than 1h for our food to come. Ordered the NFC and waffle and after 1h it came out raw. Also ordered the NFC Benny and the portion was small, chicken was soggy and super dry. The fries also did not taste fresh at all. We did not even eat the food, we just told the owner and left.
Service was super slow and quality of food is not worth the price.

We stoped by just to get a salad to go, but was treated very well by the staff and the management. Highly recommend
Nothing special about it
Good service. Bench broke. Flipped table. Luckily the only thing I hurt was my ego
