I absolutely love the flakiness of the pastry..the chef only uses BUTTER! NO shortening or lard..these are real Butter Tarts..the best we have ever had!!
We happened to stumble across this gem of a bakery at the end of the summer. My husband said the raisin butter tart was the best he's EVER had, even better than his late mom's homemade butter tarts. If you are anywhere close to Empire, GO AND GET SOME! If you're not close, go anyway!
