Babu Takeout And Catering is a popular Tamil restaurant in Scarborough that offers both takeout and catering services. Known for its affordable prices and late-night dining options, the restaurant has recently introduced combo meals to attract more clients. The food, especially the vegetarian options, has significantly improved over the years, with a notable absence of coconut in their dishes. Customers praise the restaurant for its very tasty and cheap food, including famous items like Beef Varuval and Poori Bhaji. The service is quick and friendly, with staff taking orders and packing food efficiently. Many visitors find it a great place for all South Indian and Srilankan food, often busy with long lines to order. The menu includes popular items like Chicken Briyani, Chicken Kothu Roti, and burfi. Some dishes, like Kothu Roti, are flavorful but can be fairly dry, especially if not eaten immediately. The Briyani is hearty and good for bone-in chicken lovers, though a bit drier. Desserts like burfi are creamy and go well with spicy meals. Customers enjoy the variety of options, from vegetarian to non-vegetarian dishes, with some noting the wide selection of briyanis and other items. The restaurant offers great deals, such as 20 samosas and 130 samosas, as well as vada at 50 cents each, which are crispy and soft. Service is fast, and the food is generally good, though some samosas may stick together or be slightly undercooked. Overall, it’s a decent and affordable spot with generous servings, making it a recommended place for flavorful Tamil and Sri Lankan dishes.
