“After a wine tasting at Burning Kiln winery the aroma of food got the best of me. I was able to place my order at the wine tasting bar and choose my table in the casual dining room to enjoy an amazing bowl of potato bacon soup and a Caesar salad. Both dishes arrived in a timely fashion for homemade bowls. The soup was like a stew and now I’m wanting to go back for more but I’m 2 hours away. The Caesar salad is a great salad option with warm bacon crumpled on top.”

“We took a Sunday drive out to Turkey Pt. from London today. Had lunch with friends at the Sandbar on the Beach. Weather was lovely, company was great and food was good, but service was shockingly poor. We were taken aback by how rude we and other people were treated. I don’t know what was going on, but the 3 staff were acting very put out, and were not coping with what they described as being very busy (place was full, but did not appear busy?). We were first in line, waited patiently, while the staff walked past repeatedly and never even acknowledged the line. We witnessed one staff rudely react to a woman trying to ask a simple question. When finally seated, it was unorganized chaos and they seated the group behind us before sorting us out. When there were issues with securing 4 chairs, the staff had the audacity to tell us, they would make us wait again. Next despite managing our own responses and remaining polite, the staff serving our table could barely contain her contempt. If we had known of a place near by we would have spared them our money and just left. That will be the last Sunday 1.5 hour drive to the Sandbar. Customers are not always right, but these staff were unnecessarily rude and aggressive and not managing the stress they perceived. Given we ourselves not rude customers, I can only assume we were unluckily subjected to the staff’s reaction to something else going on. I will take the opportunity next week to call and speak directly with the owner.”
