We have been frequenting this family business for over 20 years. It is now the last standing authentic Shanghainese restaurant in Toronto. But sadly the food quality has really gone downhill. Really good Chinese food from the Nanjing/Shanghai region. My favourites are the Xiaolongbao and the Lions head meatballs with crab. Prices are a little higher than similar Chinese restaurants but the quality is definitely worth it!
Tian Xin Place was a solid choice for a quick lunch. Service was fast, the menu had the usual favorites, and everything came out fresh and exactly as expected—simple, satisfying, and no surprises. Portions were decent for the price, and it’s an easy, convenient spot when you want something reliable without a long wait.
Tian Xin Place offers decent food that replicates the taste of Huaiyang cuisine or Nanjing cuisine. While the chef's cooking may be unconventional, the dishes are not bad, with the lion's head being an example. The restaurant is clean and beautifully set, with food arriving quickly. Despite some inconsistencies, the price is reasonable, and the owner is friendly. Overall, it's a good dining experience that is worth returning to.
