I read that a peameal bacon sandwich from Carousel Bakery is a must-try for a visitor to Toronto, and I definitely agree! While there was no sauce on the sandwich and I thought it might be dry, the peameal bacon was moist and delicious. The bread was also soft and delicious, and I was impressed overall.

NOTE: We had never heard of peameal bacon until we arrived in Toronto, so we had to try it. This place apparently used to be cash only, but we paid with a credit card. The sandwich was a generous size. The meat looks like pork loin, but it has the texture and taste of good ham, served warm on soft bun. You add the condiments yourself.
