Small but mighty spot. After years of thinking about this spot and getting in line. Today was the day. Perfect sun shine and cool temperatures.

I came what my food friend. We both got the ravioli with meat sauce and spinach inside. This was a perfect amount of food and just hit the spot. Very affordable plate of fresh made pasta.

We shared the fresh mozzarella cheese ball which was perfect. Way better then anything you get in a supermarket.

The sun was shining and this spot got busy. We got to the line at 11:15am and got there at the same time as a few other people. Guaranteed our spot in line to get a table as there is only ten seats.

I heard so much about Famiglia Baldassarre and my wife had waited a long time to check it out so we waited outside till we got one of the four tables they have inside.
They are quite pleasant but a touch pretentious - while maybe earned, was a bit of a turn off.
We got one tagliatelle and one ravioli. The tagliatelle seemed a little dry so I asked for extra sauce and even volunteered to pay for it and they said they couldn't or wouldn't... not sure which one. I was not impressed with the food. This is just my opinion and while im sure others like it, I cant say that im a fan. Between the hoopla to get in and the some what average food... im a meh on this one.

Really amazing! Worth the wait. Fresh pasta with great flavours. The only downside is that there is usually always a line but it moves fairly quick. Will be returning.

The pasta is so good and fresh. We arrived 15 minutes before opening on a Friday and were seated with food less than an hour later. Despite not being a dessert person, I followed the advice of another reviewer to get the tiramisu - did not disappoint!

Place seems nice and I completely understand the wait and necessity to move quick so I had my order ready unfortunately the item on the shelf was apparently taken for another customer. Perfectly fine, just asked what other options there were and the attitude of the fast speaking man behind the desk quickly shifted to one of annoyance and he then proceeded to explain to me how to cook pasta for some reason. My party and I didn't want to deal with the headache and left.

Absolutely the best pasta I've ever had. The duck ragu spaghetti had a lovely chew to it and held onto the rich sauce incredibly well. The pumpkin filled pasta had an amazing balance of sweetness with the richness of the cheese.

Waited out in the rain for spot here but it was 100% worth the wait. What an absolutely amazing spot. You can truly feel the work and love that gets put into the product as soon as you walk in here.

Do note that there will be a lineup for lunch service and you will most likely have to wait for a seat. You will have to order first and then they will call you when your seat has opened up.

lives up to the hype. been dying to try this place but hard to go if you have a M-F 9-5 job. the pasta was perfect the flavours - danced across your tongue. nothing additional needed. swordfish pasta and this pumpkin + sausage wow. go if you can. we went at open and all the tables were taken, waited probably 15/20 for the next open one and by the time we left the line was so long out the door

Great food and great experience! If you go for lunch on a Friday after 1.15pm the line is gone.

This place is very special. Leo and his team care and make everything with love and integrity. The pasta changes daily and you must come early if you don’t want to wait as it’s only a 2-hr window for lunch service between 12 noon-2:00, Wed Thurs and Friday. But check hours and menu of the day first on their Instagram before venturing out. Cash debit and cards accepted (but you will be charged the cc fees). Only sits 10 people, but you can order takeaway. Every time I come it’s out-of-this-world delicious and worth a small wait (come early!!! Before noon recommended). Small retail shop is also open for purchases.

Atmosphere
Famiglia Baldassarre is a tiny spot that feels like a hidden treasure. It’s technically a retail pasta shop, not a full restaurant, but during weekdays from 12 to 2 they serve lunch, and there’s always a lineup. The space is small, so it’s best for takeout, though in the summer they set up a few tables outside where you can sit and enjoy your meal in the sun.

Food
This is as close as you’ll get to true Italian food in Toronto. Everything is made fresh, in small batches, with top quality ingredients. They never let food sit for long and you can really taste the difference. Their daily specials rotate depending on the season, and they often use local products and farmers, which makes every visit a bit unique.

Values and Quality
One thing I love is their commitment to freshness and sustainability. They focus on local and seasonal ingredients, keeping prices reasonable while maintaining incredible quality. It’s a place that truly cares about the craft of food and the community behind it.

Personal Experience
I’ve been going there for years, and I honestly don’t know why I didn’t write this review sooner. Everything they do is consistently amazing. And if you go, don’t skip the tiramisu, it’s one of the best I’ve ever had. Famiglia Baldassarre never disappoints.

Idyllic pasta shop. Fell in love right away. The tooth on the pasta was perfect and the flavor was impeccable. Bravo.

Overhyped. $20 for a small portion of fresh pasta with some sauce, cheese and perhaps 1-2 vegetables and no protein is a bit much I think.

Very small and fantastic place with a constantly changing menu. It is very fast paced, so you need to be ready once you reach the counter to place your order. When I let them know it was my first time, they took the time to explain the process to me and make me feel welcome. They also have takeout and grocery items. I would highly recommend checking this out!
