This is a hot spot to dine. If you like spicy foods you need to try this place out. The decor was modern and chic, lighting was dim and you get the bar like feeling the moment you walk in, with a romantic and intimate feeling. Many young professionals come here to dine and relax with their friends and coworkers. Not quite kid friendly in terms of food options, but if your kids can handle spices, definitely bring them here to try. The service was good, it was busy and packed when I came here, so the server had a lot on their hands. Appetizers came first, then main courses were served in a paced manner. If you enjoy curry on the sweeter side with a hit of hotness, the beef massaman curry was really nice. This dish is served with a bowl of jasmine rice. The banana leaf fish was served with sticky rice on the side, this bundle of fish was salty, and cramped together with clear vermicelli noodles, definitely have to eat together in 1 bite with the sticky rice to cut down on the salt. It also had spiciness to it. The tapioca dumplings reminded me of the taste of fresh rolls at a Vietnamese restaurant, they were very good. You eat them with lettuce, cilantro, mint and peanuts. The satay skewers were definitely a good hit, well rounded flavours with each bite. Green papaya fritters had such a nice crunch to them. They paired well with the dipping sauce that was sweet and salty. Beef jerky was a bit chewy, it came with a sauce. This one was a mild spicy. Drunken noodles, choice of chicken or shrimp. This dish had flavour, medium spicy and salty as well. The noodles were cut in thick pieces (hand cut noodles), different for every bite. Banana fritters were crunchy and slightly sweet, but not too sweet, it came with a side of pandan dipping sauce with added a nice kick of flavour that pairs well with banana. Mango sticky rice with coconut, I'm not a big fan of this one because after dinner and eating more sticky rice seemed like a meal on its own. Although the mangos were really good in this dessert, so fresh and sweet. Ice cream! It is homemade with interesting bits of fruit on the bottom. I enjoyed this one, different than any ice cream I have tried.

The food makes up for the overcrowded, loud environment. The Tapioca dumpling has a chewy texture as explained in its name and the seasoning is a little on the sweet side like Hakka style. The side cilantro, mint and cabbage well balances the heavy seasoning. The crispy rice salad has a good amount of sourness and the freeze dried pieces is a nice replacement of the harder wok pieces. The Tom yum soup is okay with too little Tom yum flavor but too much everything else, lacking seafoods(compared the to the actual southeast Asian one) but acceptable for Toronto standards. The massaman beef curry has a very rich flavoring and is well portioned, tho could be hotter when it comes out otherwise the oil on top kinda coagulates. The rice could be better with either better kind of rice or just the more appropriate amount of water. Overall, the food is great for someone who’s been disappointed by all types of Asian food in Toronto. The owner got a little greedy with the set up of tables. It was elbow to elbow with other customers and with the loud music and loud talking, the waiting staff had to shout to each other. It’s very hard to walk past the tables without touching others’ chairs, belongings. It gives you a headache just walking in. Also, please hire more wait staff. Everyone seemed so overwhelmed. We initially waited way longer than what we were told. Shout out to our server who moved us downstairs and was attentive throughout.

The food was amazing if you like spicy and sour food! Which is totally my favorite! Haven’t been eating spicy and mind blowing food for a while in GTA. Their beef salad is the one thing that I’m ordering every time! Jungle curry is so spicy and I’m in love with it!!!

We had date night here before our play at the CAA Theatre and it was so very good. Loved the vibes and the beautiful ambiance, service was great, and the food was incredibly tasty. Every bite I had had me craving more - the tapioca dumplings, green papaya fritters, Lao bbq chicken, and drunken noodles. I would come back for any occasion - date night, girls night, solo night... it's the perfect place for anything!

Super cozy place to try. Loved all their food. We shared a lot of the food and was able to try a variety of the dishes. The host recommended really great dishes that were super flavourful. Portions were pretty generous, we even had leftovers to take home. I loved the passionista drink as a passion fruit lover. Let me tell you, I normally hate papaya, but their papaya fritters were bomb with the sauce. The tapioca dumplings were also super delightful to try. 10/10 recommend. Would definitely recommend trying with a group of friends for more variety to share.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options

Great addition to the Thai food scene in Toronto. The lao sausage and drunken noodles are consistently delicious. Atmosphere is lively; they seem to be busy every night of the week so reservations are recommended.

This place is SOOOOO GOOOOOOOD! The food is fresh and delicious, service is friendly and fun and the value is unlike anywhere in this city. We ate and drank a ridiculous amount and it cost barely anything. If you haven't been you are missing out!

Food is SO good! Service was attentive but not overbearing, our waiter explained each plate that came out. Restaurant is beautiful and lively! Get the tapioca dumplings, bbq pork skewers and the pineapple fried rice. And the Thai iced tea. The banana pandan dessert is the perfect send off for the evening.

4.5/5Great ambiance, service, and food!We started off the Tapioca Dumplings and BBQ Pork Skewers. The dumplings were stuffed with flavour and served with lettuce as well as mint, cilantro, and fried garlic as garnishes. Very interesting and tasty. The pork skewers were hot, smokey and mouthwatering! For mains, we tried the Pineapple Fried Rice and Drunken Noodles. Both were rustic, full of flavour and very good. For dessert, we tried the Coconut Sorbet and Banana fritters. This was a wonderful dish served with tropical fruit bits on the base of the sorbet and hot fritters.Overall, a great meal. Wonderful date spot!

Very nice restaurant with a subdued atmosphere. The cuisine is tasty, however one of the dishes we had was not noted as spicy on the menu and yet we had difficulty finishing it because it was so powerful. The service was quite long and wasn't really attentive, such as making sure everything was going well or even just refilling water.

Do it for the Tapioca Dumplings! The food, the service and the atmosphere were all a 10 out of 10.I went here with my girls for a little birthday celebration, and the vibes were immaculate. I really enjoyed every dish and the whole ambiance of Lao Lao.We visited this restaurant based off of the highly recommended tapioca dumplings, and they did not disappoint the most beautiful mixture of texture and flavor. It’s hard to explain, but you’ll get it once you try them.We also ordered the Green Papaya Fritters, (so delish!) Green Curry and the Beef Massaman Curry. I would highly suggest both of these dishes the Green Curry had a wonderful spice and the Beef Massaman Curry was like a warm hug.
