Love this place. I live nearby and just discovered their sandwiches and it has become my regular spot. Super fresh ingredients, great value and great service

People serving are extremely rude and they are talking each other behind the counter and it takes a long time to answer.

Got some desserts for the christmas holidays and boy can i say that quality was horrendous. I paid $55 for a Bolo Rei just for it to come all burnt dry and without any of the fruits inside. It literally looks like i got a load of bread but paid the price of $55. unacceptable. I also got some of the famous pear shape pastries with the marmalade and coconut and boy can i also say that those came horrendous too. they didn’t even cook them. PLEASE DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION. THE QUALITY IS HORRIBLE. I WILL NOT BE RETURNING ANY MORE TO THIS LOCATION

I usually go to this place twice a month... the food is good, they have delicious bread, a great variety of desserts, and other interesting options. I have no complaints about the food, but the customer service is terrible. It seems like some of the people behind the counter aren't comfortable, or aren't happy with what they do, or definitely don't want to treat customers well. It's happened to me, my wife, or my teenage son several times... we keep going there for the food, not the service.

I visited Nova Era Padaria in Toronto this past Saturday, and the experience was amazing! Daniela Messias attended to me and Sinara with such kindness and professionalism.
The service was top, and the coffee and food were absolutely delicious.
If you live in the area, I highly recommend visiting them, they’re truly the best Portuguese padaria ever!
This bakery is very inconsistent . I live in the area and unfortunately is the only bakery close to me . I have seen this place go through so many bakers and staff turnover I wonder if it has something to do with management . The customer service is terrible, they natas are pale as snow if you go to Portugal where they originated from they are slightly burnt ,and now to top it off they only have chocolate natas.? like who does that .. The roscas de coco are dry , maybe over cooked ? But there is no coconut in them aside from the too sprinkle . I understand the cost has gone up for things but when you’re compromising in quality but still raising the price it’s very dissaoointing. They have my business because there is no other option . I’ll only be purchasing buns from now on but that even seems to be inconsistent .

I have been here many times. The croissants and strudel are fresh.
The coffee though - yikes-- weaker than Tim Horron's. I thougjt she has brought me tea it was so damn weak. I thought she must have used pevious grains .
The service is really, really slow. My grandmother, who uses a walker and is half-blind and totally dumb, could work faster than these girls. There was a lineup of 8 people who just wanted to pay for their orders.
The last time I went I actually walked out because the service was so bad. I then walked down to the Bloor St one. It took 30 minutes to get there, and it was still probably faster than this bakery.
Sept 2025: croissants and buns are fresh.

Good selection of pastries and bread. No outdoor seating and not wheelchair or stroller friendly due to steps at the front door.
Food is great but the service always leaves us very uncomfortable. Not sure if it's because I'm brown but as per the other comments it seems I'm not the only one who feels racialized. Unfortunately we will not be visiting any longer and will take our service to Dark Horse instead.
