We ordered potato and kale soup. It tasted warm and nice. Good for winters. -3/5
And pita with 4 dips + 2 falafel balls. The pita was okay. Bit dense. Didnt like it much. But the dips were nice and fresh. Hummus, beetrootahini, babaganoush, lemon pesto. Out of which lemon pesto was best and second was hummus

The falafal balls were big and warm. 4/5.

Very overpriced.
Service was good, friendly.

I’ve been to parallel a few times I have no issue with the service (people are genuinely nice) or the food overall (though it’s nothing that’s going to blow you away and it’s not super creative).

What I really didn’t like and what I can honestly say is almost offensive is the fattoush salad for any price but at $23 it’s a dish I would recommend Parallel take off the menu or develop a much better take on it.

In the first place, calling it a “salad” is ridiculous. It is a massive pile of curly parsley - which is disgusting versus flat Leaf parsley, a great substitute - with the majority being large chunks of raw red and green Bell pepper, some large chucks of cucumber a couple of small pieces of tomato, a few chickpeas, some toasted almonds on the side and a very mediocre predominantly oily pomegranate dressing - along with the signature pasty tahini Parallel adds to practically every dish.

I would describe the fattoush salad as a 80s salad a child would make. I’m guessing you are supposed to have a pita, a little tahini and this “salad”( however, that still won’t change the fact that it’s terrible. They could/should do so much better and refine it.

I went here for a Valentine's dinner and had a great time.

For starters we got the 4 dips. I wish they included an extra pita with that but that's not a huge deal.

For the main I got the crab rissoto which was the special for the night and it was delicious. And I also had a chocolate lava cake slice which as also incredible.

Love this spot for a casual and delicious dinner with friends. The atmosphere is cool, and each dish is perfectly shareable. Cocktails were also great! Everything was very reasonably priced.

Great vibe, food was lovely, can't wait to come back and check it out in the warm weather!

Thinking of a trip to Geary Ave? 🥯✨ @parallel_brothers

There’s something truly special about Parallel Brothers. It’s not just a restaurant; it’s a full sensory experience where industrial-chic meets the warmth of a family kitchen.

Did you know that at the heart of their space sits a massive, 150-year-old stone mill? 🪨 It was specially imported from Syria to grind their premium sesame seeds (sourced from Ethiopia) into the silkiest tahini you’ve ever tasted. Watching the liquid gold flow from the mill while you tuck into a bowl of Hammshuka is the ultimate Toronto foodie core memory.

Whether you’re here for the vibrant beet tahini, the pillowy pita, or a tahini smoothie, you can really feel the passion the three Ozery brothers have for their craft. It’s fresh, it’s authentic, and it’s definitely worth the visit. 🥣🌿

This is the first time I booked this restaurant for a business dinner and I got very positive feedback the following day. The food was great, service was excellent, it was a cold night so sitting under the heater was nice at first but got a little hot from overhead later on. I do prefer sitting inside in the main restaurant. Overall a great experience as always and still the best hummus in town!

Hummus, labneh, and other dips aren’t great. Some tasted like they had expired a while ago…. There are so many better middle eastern restaurants in the city..

The food was fantastic overall. Service felt a bit rushed, likely due to additional reservations that evening. One issue that caught our attention was with a tequila order. We requested a specific tequila neat, but when it arrived, it didnt taste like what we ordered. We asked the bartender to confirm and were initially told it was what we ordered. After requesting to see the bottle, it was confirmed that we were right. Our drinks were taken away and replaced with the correct tequila. A minor hiccup, but could have been handled better. We would still go back.

Consistently one of my favourite restaurants in the city. Incredible food (best falafel ever), good ambiance - love coming here. Also love the big patio in the summer!

The felafel balls were so salty. I couldn't finish 1 of 4. I had to throw them out…I don't understand?… Ridiculously beyond salty. I don't like posting anything negative, but just post is necessary.

It was really nothing special. Food was overpriced and special requests were not accepted. Atmosphere was good. More for date night than eating. Disappointed overall.
