September 8, 2025 6 PM My friend and I went to order three subs. When it came to my sub, I noticed that he had already toasted it without any regards to asking me the type of cheese that I wanted. I don't understand why Subway would have the option to choose if they're not going to ask. I then asked that he gave me a new bun Doritos with the cheese that I wanted.. I stated that he could reuse the meat, but I would really like to just have the cheddar only and not the combination with the process mozzarella. He said he couldn't do it because the bun was already toasted I went on to explaining that this was not my problem that he did not ask me of my cheese selection. I asked him to call the manager. He said he's not going to. He stated that he would not pick up. At this point, I turned to my roommate and asked if he would be upset if we didn't take all the subs as we were trying to take advantage of the buy two get one free promotion. My roommate obliged me, and said he'd be willing to leave his subs behind and not give them the business. So I gave the Employee another opportunity to give me a fresh bun. He did not so we walked away. He went onto comment that if he sees us, he will not serve us again. And what was more disturbing and caused for concern which I think future customers should be aware of is that that Employee took apart all of the subs and put all of the toppings and ingredients back to be reused. So what I want people to be aware of is that if you happen to have a food allergy or a religious belief, you cannot count on that location to provide you with non-contaminated food. Now I understand why he said if the bun wasn't toasted, he would've given me a new bun. He would just put it back regardless of the fact that if a vegetarian was to come and order or someone with religious beliefs were to come in order That bun may have come into contact with meat. I can understand and respect that times are tough and expenses are up. However, when the employee makes the error and goes ahead to decide for themselves, what my made to order sandwich should look like And to be treated with such poor customer service, I cannot promote this establishment. Furthermore, my roommate Is diabetic and because of this employees blatant attempt at authority, my roommate had to eat a little later just to prove a point. I do not recommend this subway location for Any form of customer service. And if you have food, sensitivities or any religious beliefs, do not eat here either as they will not respect them, and you can't trust that they didn't cross contaminate the products.. I also want to state that I Attempted to reach out to subways customer service or Head office to bring this to their attention in a much more private civil manner, unfortunately, it was next to impossible to locate a number to reach them. Makes me feel this is why the employee might've not cared due to the lack of repercussions that they might face When I said, I was going to complain. The contact us chat system makes it very difficult to address the concern and or problem in an accurate manner seeing as when I tried to put in all of the things that went wrong. I couldn't send it because of a 225 character Limit. So I then changed it to I needed someone to contact me as I could not oblige with all the information and to please contact me. They said to look out for an email. I'm yet to see the email. I hope Subway headquarters takes this review seriously and considers making some changes to their own customer support access. Apologies in advance for the punctuation or grammar my eyes are not that great so I'm using the voice record. For a situation like this, I should be compensated for all the grief and hassles If they want to regain my trust with customer satisfaction.

Very rude attitude by the morning server.
The Cleanest Subway in Toronto – Thanks to Darsh
Visited this Cabbagetown Subway and was genuinely stunned—not by the food (which was great), but by the immaculate environment. The entire place sparkled. Floors so clean you could eat off them. Zero odour. Everything perfectly arranged and shining.
I asked the staff who was responsible—and his name is Darsh. He had just finished mopping, and you could tell this wasn’t just a job to him. It was care. It was pride.
Darsh is the kind of person who restores your faith in customer service. This location should be a training ground for how food establishments ought to be run.
Clean. Respectful. Human.
Ask for Darsh. He deserves a raise—and recognition
Nice subway
I went there yesterday and had three different types of subs to get for my family. 1 was chicken 2 were veggie. And i gave the order for the chicken first and then the 2 veggies when i said after this 2 veggie patty subs on italian bread he said “ARE THERE ANYMORE YOUR GONNA ASK FOR? OR JUST THESE?” Doesn’t sound so mean when u read it but trust me its one of those things where you shoulda been there to know what he sounded like situations. Very disappointed
I don’t understand why the little Indian guy working at this store is so aggressive and disrespectful every time my wife & I visit this store. We went in the morning at around 11 am, Saturday. Don’t be homophobic especially if your store is located so close to the Gay Village. Next time, I won’t just be writing this on review but will have to escalate this further.
Everything was fine here for a quick bite.
My daughter and I have been coming to this location for an occasional bite after school for years and they never disappoint. They continuously deliver excellent customer service, staff are friendly and we are always able to find a seat.
Cheap location that doesn’t participate in deals on the app. It’s a family/community area, they should be participating in the deals in the app but instead they trying to charge as much as they can.
Why am I spending $17 on a sandwich?🥪 Ouff. Never again. The place was pretty clean, I suspect because people aren’t coming in for $17 sandwiches. 🧐😝

UPDATED:
Looks like they've made some changes. They seem to honor the deals in the app now and the person who made my sub tonight was really polite and friendly. Updating my review to 4/5.
PAST REVIEW:
This location doesn't honor any of the deals in the subway app. I find this strange. Very disappointing.

This is one of the better subway restaurants in downtown Toronto. Clean restaurant and friendly stuff. I live on Yonge street and there’re plenty of other subway restaurants along yonge st and bay st but I always walk to this one. Their menu price is also a little cheaper than other downtown locations because those locations all have a high markup.
