“It’s the first time ordering from this amazing pizza shop. I was greeted with the positive energy from Mr. Daryoush. I was early for my pick up. I was offered with the complimentary peanut. We chat for 5-10 minutes. It’s like I know the guy for years. The pizza I ordered was “meat and mushrooms”. Let me tell you about the pizza . It’s the most delicious pizza I have ever had in Toronto in my opinion, I am picky about the food specifically Pizza., Anyway you won’t be disappointed. I can guarantee that. I loved the food and the atmosphere in general. I will definitely go back and recommend this place to you. If you like pizza this is the place. Cheers.“

We came across this restaurant randomly, and I can confidently say it has become one of my favorite spots for Persian food. It’s a cozy, homey place where the food truly speaks for itself, everything was incredibly flavourful and made with care. I also loved that you can swap half the rice for salad for just a $2 charge, which was totally worth it. The owner was wonderful as well, very welcoming and hospitable. “I ordered the family pack for six. Overall, the food quality was good, especially the kebab and rice, which is why I’m giving 5 stars.

However, the Tahdig was disappointing. It tasted stale and was inedible, so I had to throw it away. Also, the soup portion was quite small and did not feel sufficient for six people.

Still, the kebab and rice were excellent, and I appreciate the quality of the main dishes.“

“I had been going there for years when I lived in Richmond hill. I’ve always enjoyed their food. I hadn’t been in quite a while due to illness and also I now live half an hour away. It’s a treat for me to be able to venture down for their delicious food. They’ve always had good service but it seems even better now than before. I love that they changed their takeout packaging and they switched to paper bags. They’ve changed up their salad which is nice as it’s really fresh. It’s my favourite place for Persian food.“

“One of the best Iranian restaurants in Toronto. The food is consistently delicious, authentic, and full of flavor, with generous portions and great quality ingredients. Every dish we’ve tried has been excellent, and it’s a place we keep coming back to.

The only downside is the dining area itself. The space is quite small, and the temperature can be uncomfortable, very hot during the summer and quite cold in the winter. Because of this, it’s not the most comfortable spot for dine-in, especially if you’re planning to stay for a longer meal. That said, the outstanding food more than makes up for it, and it’s still a restaurant I highly recommend.“

What can I say, very friendly welcoming service, clean organized interior and very fresh quality meat. Prices are average compared to the other 500+ kabob restaurants in this area but Taftan seems to stand out simply because of their reputation and large portion sizes. Today I got the barg (filet mignon beef) combo with rice and a side order of a chicken leg skewer. And hey they even threw in free cans of pop, lots of butter packets for the rice, packets of sumac (that tangy but distinct middle eastern red spice), and a pita bread! I’ll be sure to return again.“

The store is mostly clean and they have a really good selection — most of the time I can find whatever I’m looking for, especially Iranian stuff that’s hard to get anywhere else. The owner is super friendly, and the cashiers are usually in a good mood and happy to help. Their prices are often the best too, which is a big plus.
