Everything we had was so great. The mushroom artichoke tostadas, scramble side, and burrito. 🌯 I’d come back to try more! Updated from previous review on 2026-07-31

Tried out A Broken Angel last night and was not disappointed! I got the Blue Corn Migas which was fantastic! Both the burrito and side of potatoes were full of flavor and the portion was enough for two meals. My husband got the Enchilada Short Stack, which was also flavorful and full of fresh & natural goodness. Looking forward to visiting again! Updated from previous review on 2026-07-18

I frequent them often and LOVE their eggplant sandwich, there’s nothing else like it! Their Bloody Mary is a great addition too. Updated from previous review on 2026-07-02

I went to A Broken Angel on Memorial Day weekend when I was there for the Primus show. I'd heard about them from Happy Cow (vegan app) and was looking forward to it for months. First of all, I have to say I loved the spot. Great view of the mountains, and right next to Crux Fermentation Project, which had good beer to sip while you wait for your food. The staff was nice and ordering was easy. The food was really good too. I was a bit disappointed that the tostadas--the item I'd heard hyped--were more like tacos with soft tortillas vs. the crisp shell that I imagine when I think tostada, but I admit that's my own expectation as much as anything. I also though the enchilada stack could have used a bit more oomph. But the hash was wonderful, and I loved my black pearl sandwich and the charcuterie box, I have thought about them pretty much every day since my trip and would drive the 6 hours back to Bend just to get them again (and to get an eggplant sandwich since we were all sharing and my friend doesn't like eggplant). It was all super good, and I really wish we had something like it here.

Really good scramble. I loved the tostadas, breakfast sandwich was also good. Good spices and flavor. It was really packed which was the only downside.

Warning: their pulled black pearl sandwich is SPICY, like 3/5 on the spicy scale, which was surprising since their menu doesn’t say that it’s spicy at all, and my wife couldn’t eat it. When you order Thai food, if you don’t normally order 3/5 for spiciness, it’ll probably be too hot for you.

Aside from that, it’s tasty and flavorful, and their bread is really soft and the right ratio of bread to fillings.

Their tacos are pretty good, but for the potato truffle tacos, I couldn’t really taste any distinct truffle flavor, there was probably just too much going on with the onions and other toppings. But, their tacos are HUGE and a good value, three tacos can easily fill up a person unlike most taco places!

Their iced tea for $4 probably isn’t worth it, it’s just tea+water+ice, I guess I thought maybe it’d be tea+milk, oh well.

This review is for the soup CSA. I am a soup lover and every week’s selection completely blows my mind in deliciousness and creativity. It’s so nice to have Friday night dinners figured out. I hope the soup CSA never goes away because the selections each season give me so much to look forward to.
