The Hungry Clam is a great spot for fish and chip lovers, offering a generous 4-piece serving that is well worth the slightly higher price. Their menu, a comfort food fest, features delicious clam chowder, clam strips, and tater tots. Everything is portioned large and tasted delicious. This place is very casual and is located at the port area of Brookings OR. Several tables for two and four inside with much more seating outside in the shade and sun with umbrellas for shade. The Combo is the most difficult too pull off. Monday evening enjoyed the best fried oysters, squid was also tender and juicy; cod, clams and fries are always good here. Vegetarian options include mushroom zucchini potato. Ask chef for dietary restrictions. Room for RV's and booster seats available. Wheelchair accessibility is yes. This is the best seafood restaurant on the Oregon coast. The combo seafood basket with fries/coleslaw, everything was lightly battered, lightly seasoned, then tossed in with a slight twist of lemon. The crab melt was amazing, where not the dairy but the crab was the leading ingredient of this toasted sandwich. Above all else the clam chowder is the best clam chowder found in Oregon. The clam chowder has every ingredient, the potatoe is perfectly cooked, and the clams are still tender/sweet. This is the only place with 10/10 clam chowder. Their chicken tenders are highly regarded by the locals. The service is phenomenal, with friendly staff and a cook known for singing beautifully while preparing meals. The staff and locals were genuinely warm people, they seemed to want a positive experience, only adding kindness to ours. Ideal for those seeking a delightful dining experience in a cozy atmosphere.
