“We arrived shortly before closing, and we were still welcomed. The food, the decor, and the atmosphere was superb. Fresh, local ingredients are combined in surprisingly creative and delicious ways. We started with a Last Word Sour, and it was one of best cocktails I have ever had. The burrata, heirloom tomato, and nasturtium tartine was exponentially more flavorful than we imagined, as was every other dish that followed. The dish with panisse was delicious and well-balanced, the tomato sauce on the rigatoni was so bright and fresh, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. We finished our meal with a lemon semi-freddo, and it was combined with a corn-based crumble that was shockingly delicious. Thank you, Lion & Owl for a memorable meal!! 10/10!!“

Parking: We were lucky to park right in front.. no lie, I'm sure they fill up quickly, as there's many nice businesses around it. They do offer a lot of open, free parking there at Oakway Center.“

“My home away from home. I’ve worked in a lot of establishments as a host and as an employee at all levels. This makes me a little picky about strange things like, employee retention, a love and involvement from owners, a mutual respect among employees, excellence in service, attention to details. Last but not least- knowing their customers- how they like how what when and where is remembered and held somewhat sacred. Being a regular here is being part of a family as staff or clientele. As long as I have breath in my body and they will have me I will host a show here for my own sanity and well being. More places should pay attention to how these people do business on all ends. “Oh my god... the poutine!!! My first time.. and yes, a die and go to heaven moment. Fries smothered in gravy with cheese curds! We just ate at Falling Sky Brewing I had the most luscious cubano! With crispy and juicy shredded pork, ham, cheese and pickles squished to deliciousness. And the perfect amout of mustard... the mustard is what makes it for me! With a side kale ceasar, a perfect pairing. Hubby had the Ruben, with house made pastrami and saurkrawt. Not too sour, on a marbled rye. He loved it. Son had a grilled chicken club with parmesagn garlic fries. Another win! We all drank their homemade ginger ale and root beer.“

“We attended the 50 YEAR REUNION FOR SOUTH EUGENE HIGH SCHOOL.My husband Andy Young was in the class of 1975!! Its a nice place. Roomy and spacious for all the folks that were there!!! Staff was friendly, Bartenders made delicious strong drinks and it was the perfect place for the 1st night of a 3 day reunion!! Everybody was happy to see each other and we had a great time...Oh if you only knew the stories some of these people told about the golf club and the houses around there!! Lots of amazing memories and a beautiful view. PERFECT PLACE FOR A GATHERING!!“

“Had the Pub burger with Havarti cheese and fries. The burger was cooked the way I had asked for. The waitress was friendly, but when I asked for a refill on my soda, she never mentioned that they charge full price for a refill of soda. If knew, I wouldn't have asked for another. Please let customers know so they know what to expect on the bill. Other than that, I was happy with my visit.

“I’m traveling with non-vegans and this place was amazing for everyone! Huge menu including lots of vegan meals and basically everything else can be made vegan too. They even had vegan cookies! Really cool ambience and the staff was super friendly.“

“Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior camouflage, this joint is serving up the most delicious and best value bar food in Eugene, in a sparkling clean authentic dive bar atmosphere. The Rusty Sliders are familiar to those who frequented the original iteration of Laurelwood Pub, and the side salads are so gorgeous you will be forgiven for imagining you are in a bougie bistro.

Make sure you ask about daily specials (the vague waitress didn't clue us in) and always ALWAYS order the cheesecake on Fridays. We will be regulars now, especially when the new Ducks football season starts.

Excellent tap selection and even better pricing. A few in my party mentioned they would like to see a couple of local wines vs the basic stuff available but perhaps they are in the general minority.“

“I was facing 7 hours in planes and airports, with a very short layover in Denver, so I had to eat something. Unfortunately my stomach was very unstable. The waitress helped me decide on a cup of chicken noodle soup and a cup of hot mint tea. It tasted quite good and I made it all the way to Iowa with only mild discomfort , and not too hungry.“

“The employee help me out to understand how things worked here. He showed me that you can pretty much make everything vegan. I ordered a few things that were already vegan and they were delicious. I would definitely go back again especially because of the customer service. It was a plus. The kale Caesar salad was great. As well as there Thai bowl. I ordered their chips and mediam spicy salsa with guac. And a berry berry smoothie. Loved it.“

“My husband and I took friends to the Sunday brunch Sept 8 to celebrate their 62nd anniversary. I had been there with my sisters about a month ago and was pleased with most everything. I made 10:00 reservations. We got there a little early so the waiter asked us to sit down and they’d be with us shortly. After about a 12 minute wait the same waiter came up to us and asked if we had been helped. I said yes we were waiting for you to seat us. He had forgotten us. We ordered coffee from a waitress. Twenty minutes later and no coffee we grabbed another waitress and asked her to get us coffee. Instead of being offered refills on coffee we had to ask for it. Needless to say we were very disappointed in the service. On the other hand the food was very good. Unfortunately good food alone does not make the best experience. Don’t know if we’ll be back. All but the service was great. 😓“
