“Apni Rasoi helps round out the substantial variety of offerings at The Heist, a relatively new cart pod in a former bank location on SE Woodstock. While on the topic of substantial - both my Chicken Tikka Masala and my friend's Lamb Vindaloo provided us with leftovers that went well beyond the day of our visit. The naan was fantastic - served warm, soft, and perfectly chewy, wrapped in foil. Our food arrived quickly, and a buzzer made it easy to find seating wherever we wanted, without having to hover to know when the order was ready The location is terrific - there's outdoor seating and a spacious indoor area with a bar, a coffee shop, and lots of tables in a robbery themed repurposing of the building.“
“Edit (1.13.26): We've eaten here a couple more times since the rocky opening and have had better experiences. I'd recommend eating at the restaurant for the freshest food experience. Tried the Biryani, which was excellent and would recommend.
Previous review: We got take-out from Haveli shortly after they opened. TLDR, it wasn't a great experience, but we may give it another shot in the future.
My husband went to pick-up and struggled to find parking and then proceeded to wait inside without being acknowledged for about 15 minutes. The food took a while, and they seemed short-staffed up front.
The chicken tikka masala was pretty mid, the sauce was very wet and had a soupy/watery quality to it. They flavor was ok but lacked much depth or spice level, and there were large cardamom pods left behind that I had to fish out. Every now and then I'd miss one and that wasn't super pleasant. My husband ordered the goat curry, which was also disappointing. It brought a lot of heat but also was lacking in flavor. The garlic naan wasn't very warm considering the food was quite delayed, but it was maybe the best thing out of what we got, which isn't saying much.
We'll give it another shot in the future and order some other dishes. Hopefully we can find something that works considering there isn't a lot of diverse food options out here.“

“The best Indian food around! We love the Paneer Koorma, chicken vindaloo, the aloo Gobi , the samsosa, and Naan. (This is everything we have tried so far, it's all fantastic)
Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly with a small kids play area, and board games to play inside if you ask the bar.
Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, plenty of parking, no stairs, inside and outside seating with wide sidewalks and lots of room.“
“I love South Indian so happy to see a food cart offering some of the same dishes. Delicious Idli and Sambar although wished there were more solid vegetables in my sambar but the taste was really good. Had a Masala Dosa which tasted great and love the coconut chutney. Will come back!“

“Fabulous venue although I will not be returning as trivia night on Wednesdays has been eliminated. This was my go to place every Wednesday. My happy place, my keep my brain intact, challenge my rivals and see familiar faces place. I'm sad you made this choice, I hope you make better ones next time.“

“I went here tonight for the first time and the food is so good it’s mind blowing. Everything I ate was absolutely delicious! I will DEFINITELY be returning. Service is also very good. Our waiter was attentive without being overbearing, and made sure we had everything we needed. I loved it here and am really looking forward to my next visit.“

“Hands down the BEST chicken biryani I’ve ever tried. I drive 40+ minutes 1-2 times a week just to get it because it’s so good. You get so much that we split it between two people and it fills us both up. I’ve tried many other Indian restaurants but none of them compare to this one. Great prices and even better food.“
