“A lovely little restaurant off the beaten path. I got the lamb samosas, which were wonderful, and my wife got the chicken kabob. The chicken came on a platter with pickled onions and the texture was unlike any chicken I've had before: light and almost fluffy. Wrapped in a piece of garlic naan and dipped in the sweet chutney it was very good. The service was quick and very polite. I would definitely eat here again.“

“My husband and I had heard great things about this cart, so we came and got a ton of food to give it a try. We are so glad we did! The word of mouth is absolutely correct. The food was fresh, delicious, and perfectly spiced. Plus the portions are very generous. Our stand outs: chicken biryani, lamb curry, and veggie pakoras. The biryani may be one of the best I’ve had anywhere, we both had to throw away our spoons to stop eating it. The lamb is tender and the curry flavor is deep and rich and flavorful. The pakoras are more substantial than others I’ve had, but they had great flavor and I loved the coriander chutney they came with. This cart is a gem and I can’t wait to go back for more!“

“Are you sick of the same ol’ same ol’ pizza? Do you love Indian food? Well then this might just be your place. While they do offer the classics for those not looking for something new, for everyone else there is an amazing collection of Indian fusion pizzas. Of course they have a chicken tikka pizza, but that’s just the beginning. Just check out the menu and tell me you’re not compelled to give this place a try. We ordered the tandoori paneer pizza and the vegan Punjabi garlic breadsticks. And the verdict… Holy crap! Drop what you’re doing and get over here. Best breadsticks I’ve had in a very long time, if ever. Very bold flavors, chewy, delicious. And the pizza, while the flavors were more subtle, they were deliciously complex. I’m excited to return to explore the menu further. Do yourself a favor and get over here now.“

“What an absolute gem! Hands down this place serves the best Indian food in Oregon. When flavors dance on your tongue to the beat of the music you know you've found your spot. I'll never eat at another Indian restaurant in Portland. My mom was with me today and she can find something to complain about at any restaurant and does, but not today. Everything, the atmosphere, the staff, the drinks, the food and the price had her content and happy as a clam without a single complaint! I can't remember the last time that happened! Thanks for the delightful experience, I will definitely be back, very soon!“

“Remember folks, all the negative and over the top ago reviews within a few days of each other are hate brigades. They are bots and accounts that aren’t in Portland and have never experienced Desi Pdx. since no service was provided it should not be considered valid.“

“One of my favorite restaurants in Portland. Has great dairy free, vegetarian, and vegan options. You have to try their Tikka Masala. Great staff, great food, great drinks. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️“

“Chicken tikka masala was perfectly prepared. First time in as long as I can remember, where the chicken was not overcooked and instead... soooo very juicy and tender. Garlic naan... yum. Pakora was delicious“

“Ordered delivery from here, my work location is about half a mile. The food was ok… had better Indian, but again this place is close by. I ordered Dahi Bhalla chat which was actually very yummy… would order that again. Also ordered an eggplant dish called Baingan Bhartha. I ordered mild, should have done medium spice. It was an ok dish, a little on the salty side for my tastes. The rice was nice and fluffy and also ordered garlic naan. They didn’t include forks or napkins 🤷🏻♀ however I would order from here again“

“Wow, amazing food. We were visiting portland from east coast and tried saag chicken + shrimp biryani from this place. The taste was top notch and spice level was really good as well according to our requirement. We wanted high spice that can satisfy desi tastebuds.“

“We ate a late dinner at this restaurant and it was phenomenal… just absolutely delicious. It wasn’t crowded since it was so late and we got some real 1:1 attention. The owner of the restaurant came to our table and explained so many things about the dishes, desserts and drinks. He was so passionate about what he does and it shined through in the food! We will definitely be back to try more food! It’s very nice inside the restaurant as well. The lighting is nice and it is quiet and clean. As we were leaving, the owner gave us some traditional Indian beers to try at home. What a great spot!“

“Mezbaan Mahal is a family-owned Indian restaurant and you can feel that the moment you walk in. It has a warm, welcoming vibe that a lot of chain restaurants just can’t fake. There’s plenty of seating so you don’t feel cramped, and the staff were genuinely friendly, not in a rushed, get-you-in-get-you-out kind of way, but actually attentive and nice.
We went around 6 PM on a weekday and it wasn’t too busy, which made the whole experience even more relaxed. Great time to go if you want a quieter dinner.
Now the food — we ordered the chicken khari and I’ll be honest, I was a little nervous because khari can sometimes come out dry or bland. Not here. It was rich, flavorful, and had really good depth to the spices. Definitely not what I was expecting in the best way possible.
The portions are seriously generous. The two of us shared one order and we still had enough to take home for the next day. And the garlic naan? Fresh and soft and exactly how it should be.
Overall a really solid spot. Will definitely be coming back.“

“I sample some chicken marsala two weeks ago a friend had. I placed a to go order while I was on my lunch. I sampled everything once I got back to work. IT WAS SOOOOO DELICIOUS AND EXTREMELY WELL SEASONED. The food was sooo good when I got home from work; I heated up more of it. DANG IT!!! Was just as good as the first bite. I was up at 2:22 am finishing off the rest. Justin was amazing and has the best food selection advice. Please visit. I swear you won't be disappointed. Signed Tenise“

“Amazing flavors for the egg plant Masala and Lamb saag that I ordered. Medium heat was still pretty spicy. Better value than at a restaurant. Hummus could use more garlic, but overall- absolutely delicious. Last Saturday of the month features an open mic in this tiny park.“

“I am traveling from Billings Montana with my girlfriend and we decided to order online and stop by. Both got saag one chicken and one shrimp with plain naan. Came with rice just needed to order naan on side. Portions were big and very satisfying. Incredible saag. Big and delicious naan bread. Extremely happy this is exactly what we expect from Indian food, and it’s awesome how they run from a truck. Thank you guys for a great meal and being open later 🙏. Keep doing what you’re doing cus it’s great. Really pretty area that we could sit in even though we left to eat at home.“

“This is a must try place! I stumbled upon them by accident, was walking down Woodstock with a friend and the delicious smell of the curry steered us away from our previous path.
I got the lamb curry, and OH MY GOD. The chunks of lamb were big, they were tender... The curry itself was just incredible... Quite effectively the best lamb curry I've ever had. I will definitely be back for more, and soon!!“

“I haven’t had a dining experience like this since I moved to Portland 4 years ago.
I hadn’t meant to linger long enough to eat but the kind face that met me at the door made me feel welcome right away.
Hooked by the tapestry of photos and signs covering the walls, nostalgic bollywood films on the TV, the delightful music playing over the speakers- made me never want to leave.
The food is delicious, just the right amount of sweet and spicy. The “Vada Pav” really hit the spot on this lovely sunny day and it was cheap, too!
Highly recommend! Will be visiting again.“

“This is some of the best Indian food flavors in Portland, and it’s in the mall food court! Very generous portions, great prices and very friendly service! I highly recommend Bombay Wala! Thank you for all the “extras” and such wonderful food!“

“I enjoyed the lamb Kathi roll, the spices were on point and the naan bread soft and delicious. However, I was pretty shocked that it came only in tin foil. I would’ve expected it to be wrapped in paper and then tinfoil to make it easier to eat, and also prevent accidentally eating a piece of tinfoil, which is incredibly toxic.“

“We love Little Tibet! (Especially at our favorite St. Johns/Peninsula food cart pod!) The momos and curry are The Best (I could eat momos every day the rest of my life and be happy... perhaps even chubbier, but quite content.) Tashi and Lahkpa are genuinely beautiful people, which makes the food even better.“

“So very yummy! I only wish they would label their foods better on food delivery apps. I would order from them all the time if I only knew which dishes were vegan, contained allergens like nuts, etc. unfortunately, I don’t order anymore because I don’t know if something will have an ingredient I don’t eat or that I’m allergic to.“

“First time trying and will order again. I got for takeout: Butter Chicken it comes with rice. Its very flavorful, savory buttery sweet but not overly sweet. I requested medium spice. I also ordered garlic naan which was deliciously garlicky and had herbs. I also got the tamarind chutney which I highly recommend, spicy tart and sweet. The green chutney was good too but if I had to choose I would get the tamarind chutney.“

“Shocked to see so many negative reviews, honestly. My SO got lamb vindaloo and a mango lassi from this cart and thought it was an absolute banger of a meal. It looked great to me—really thick, rich sauce and lots of nice, juicy looking chunks of lamb with a healthy portion of fluffy rice. Great price and portion because he had some to take home for later, as he could not finish the whole thing! I watched him get his order taken and the guy at the counter seemed lovely.“

“This is our go to stop when coming from the gorge towards Portland. The only Indian restaurant in Portland area that serves a dinner buffet. The variety is huge for both veg and non-veg. Samosas are amazing but unfortunately not a regular item. Don’t be fooled by the ethnicity of the staff. The flavors are very authentic on most items. Last I checked with them the main chef is Indian. But they also have a non-Indian chef whose cooking is excellent.“

“Shera Indian Cuisine absolutely knocked it out of the park for our recent party! We ordered the butter chicken, garlic naan, chana masala, and chicken with bone biryani, and every single dish was absolutely amazing. The portions were incredibly generous, ensuring none of our guests went hungry.
What truly sets Shera apart is their phenomenal customer service and attention to detail. Before finalizing the order, he actually had us taste everything to ensure the flavors and spice levels were perfectly aligned with what we wanted. This extra step made the entire menu feel completely custom-tailored to our exact tastes.
Thanks to the incredible food, our party was a massive hit, and almost everyone was asking for the name of our caterer by the end of the night. If you want phenomenal food with generous portions and truly personalized service, I cannot recommend Shera Indian Cuisine enough!“
