“Daawat a lshq is a fantastic, tiny side of the road, Indian Food cart. This is street food, and it is great. Everything we are was fantastic. Small joint and very quaint. We love this place and will definitely go back.Vegetarian options: Lots of vegetarian optionsParking: The parking lot is small, kinda like the restaurant.Kid-friendliness: No the most kid friendly place.Wheelchair accessibility: No stairs, but high tables, rough parking lot.“
“I usually go for NY style pizza if I'm getting pizza but wanted to try here bc it sounded different. Wasn't sure how Indian it was going to be, and I would say after trying it is mostly on the classic pizza side w/ about 25% Indian. I liked it but they could make it more Indian tasting & I think I'd like it more. You can choose from a few topping options such as tandoori chicken, curry chicken & a few others. They also have paneer vegetarian options which I may try next time as they sound good. They let you choose half and half and we tried a couple of the chicken options and both were very tasty. I wasn't the biggest fan of their standard crust as it was a bit doughy to me but I noticed that you can choose different crust as well as make your own pizza (only after I ordered unfortunately) and they have a thin crust or cauliflower crust option as well as some others. The interior is spacious w/ some big screens that have games on. They also have some nice specials, a lunch special for a small pizza & weekday special where your 1st beer is $1.“
“This was the single best dining experience I've EVER had. The staff was incredibly friendly and professional, and there was a personal touch that I've never experienced. The lamb was probably the best dish I've ever had, and the cocktails were stunning as well. This might be the best restaurant in Oregon, the creativity of the flavors is OFF THE CHARTS. 10/10.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free“
“The food I amazing and the atmosphere is great. I really enjoy coming to this restaurant. My personal favorite dish that I would highly recommend is the butter chicken. The only negative is that the service can be on the slower end.Vegetarian options: A large portion of the menu is dedicated to vegetarian options.“
“Really great experience at this restaurant. Food is fantastic and unique. The flavor profile is different than most Indian restaurants. We had Veg Pakora platter, Chicken Skewers and Veg Thali for 2, for drinks we tried the Paloma, Kashmiri Tea and Mango Coconut Lassi. Everything was cooked to perfection, and each dish had its own flavor. Chef/owner was very engaging and attentive to our needs during the meal. Highly highly recommend.“
“the vegetable pakora was very delicious so as the chicken curry!! Rice are well-cooked too! The owner made sure we get the Pakora right out of the fryer before we even paid for the food.On the top of that, the owner was nice enough to give our little puppy some bland chicken !!!Would definitely come again!Highly recommend this place!“
“Wow, flavor explosion! I just had the dal with rice (lunch bowl) and the flavors were amazing. There’s some crunch with roasted chickpeas and sweetness with dried fruit in the rice. I love Indian food so I can’t wait to try other dishes and the food at the sister restaurant. The service was friendly and very quick!“
“Great spot to explore indian flavors in Portland. They have a television playing Indian movies all the time and you are also surrounded by Indian decor across the restaurant and the restrooms as well.We got the chicken kathi roll, pav bhaji and the indian chai. The kathi roll was flavorful, good portion size and high quality and pav bhaji was decent as well.Highly recommend this spot which is also pretty reasonably priced as well!“
“I discovered my new Favorite food in the Universe when I was today hours old: momos!Orig from the monasteries of Tibet/Nepal… if you can imagine Polish pierogis & pelmini having a hot steaming sweaty 3-way w/ Chinese xiao long Bao all night while the dogs watch…you might have an idea what I just Xperienced going down my pie hole. And at only $12/order, they’re a Steal.“
“This place is awesome. Serious comfort food. It's so tasty and makes you feel so good inside, It's the best Indian takeout I've had since New York City, the best I've had on the west coast, bar none. It's so worth it.. I shared my chili garlic chicken wings with a traveler on the street they to agreed the excellence of it all.... Indian food is spicy, this is something you should know. You can't give a bad review cause you don't like spicy food but then order Indian food, that's all on you... Just saying...“
“Take a trip to India at this hidden little treasure on Hawthorne Blvd.! This family-owned restaurant features an all vegan & vegetarian menu. You’ll find all the warm spices and homey flavors of India at Maruti’s! Everything on the carefully crafted menu is delicious and will leave you craving more. You will return here again and again. It is highly likely that this restaurant will become one of your favorite places in town to get Tikka, Channa and Naan from their tandoori oven! (pssst…they even have gluten-free Naan!). Additionally, they have homemade chai, smooth and creamy lassi’s, a quality wine list and feature a full bar where they have created some amazing and unforgettable cocktails!“
“I have eaten here a few times. Everything is gluten free except the naan. All the dishes are amazing, but the biryani is off the charts amazing. It is all home made and fresh. Will definitely come back and try everything else.Kid-friendliness: Food truck atmosphere. There is a stage to play on unless they have live music performing.“
“Holy cow, amazing, tandoori, tuna salad, sandwich at this little food cart by the upright brewing. New location at a renovated gas station on Northeast Prescott. !! The atmosphere rating is for the inside dining option (or picnic tables) at the upright brewing and Juniors coffee at the ‘station’Also, they have a happy hour special every day from 3 to 5 with deals on sandwiches and beers !“
“Original dishes, fast service, nice ambient, quiet restaurant. The best dish was the chick’n tikka masala. I really liked the sauce on the samosas, but they were not traditional samosas. A lot of the dishes were creative and required an open mind. The lentil kofta was essentially lentil falafel with veggies. The naan was not necessary, since the dishes had rice and it was really more like pita bread with seeds. Which is a shame, as you never see vegan naan anywhere. The dessert was okay. The texture was a bit off to us, but the blueberry compote was nice and very generous on the blueberries.Overall, the dinner was okay. If I did it again, I wouldn’t come in with high expectations my first time and I’d be open to the dishes being different than what they traditionally are. The food is good and original, the service is fast, the prices are reasonable, and the restaurant is nice and quiet for a dinner.“
“Tikkalicious is my favorite restaurant in Portland BY FAR. I usually get the lamb makhani and chicken biryani, and I’m blown away every time like it’s my first time having it again. The lamb makhani is delicious, flavorful and tender, and the chicken in the chicken biryani has incredible flavor and falls off the bone. The garlic naan is perfect every time. The food is spicy, but worth it and so delicious. I order from here regularly, I highly recommend Tikkalicious! (Order take out, not DoorDash!)“
“Unusual mix of Indian and French cuisine offerings. The Indian dishes are authentic, prepared by two chefs with culinary school training. The French items are well-known (eg, bistro classics, like onion soup),and provide a nice complement for a party that has varying tastes. Service is attentive and personable. One of the owners and chefs visited our table and was quite personable and earnest. The setting is spacious and comfortable.“
“One of the best places to eat this style of food, they really use fresh and quality products, personally I always like the Chicken Biryani and its preparation is perfect, the rice is not stuck like other establishments in the area offer it with or without spicy , likewise the Garlic Naan are perfect and delicious. Highly recommend ordering food from this place, the service is excellent, and the portions are very generous.“
“We had our new year's dinner here. I had to reserve through the OpenTable to make sure we get seats. The food was delicious. The service was very slow though, we waited for our food for almost 30mins. The quantity of the food was also questionable from the price point. The location is good but not sure if we will be going again.“
“If you want to eat something satisfying and flavorful you have to go! The chili momo plate was over the top delicious. The curry bowl is also mind blowing. The flavor and spice is perfect and cannot be matched! I can't wait to go back.“
“Really yummy, well seasoned food! The spice level of my eggplant masala was right where I like it, a bit of heat but not so much that it overwhelmed the dish. We got a sampler of the pakoras and the breading was fantastic. I also got their mango mixed drink which was well mixed and refreshing. My friends and I shared our dishes and I enjoyed everything I tried! The server was great, personable and attentive, but gave us time to enjoy our food once we got it. Will be back when I am in the area again for sure.Vegetarian options: As expected from Indian food, there were plenty of vegetarian options, and I believe I saw some dishes with options to make them vegan if that's your dietary preference.“
“If you love Indo-Chinese (or just Indian) food then you have to try this place. I absolutely love their Gobi Manchurian as well as the noodles/fried rice. The malai kofta here is also really stellar—very moist and not dry like most Indian places. Spice level is perfect to me (the “normal” spice is probably what most other Indian spots consider “hot”). Take out only is a bummer, but still an awesome place to grab an easy dinner.Vegetarian options: Huge veggie section and most dishes can be made vegan. As a meat eater, I almost exclusively order veggie dishes here, which says a lot.“
“I've been ordering food from this cart for a few years now and the quality has been consistently good. Flavours are vibrant, portions are generous and the staff have always been friendly even when they are very busy.My favourites are the Lamb Korma and their Vegetable Samosas. In fact, ordering these as a combo is becoming one of our eating-out staples.“
“A little pricey but a wonderful local place to get some amazing food. The serving sizes are big enough to fill me and my partner up when sharing a dish, though that may just be because we're two small people. While it's hard to mess up a mango lassi, theirs are still exceptional.“
“The absolute best place to get food at the mall. Real authentic food and absolutely tasty! This is the only place that has ever got me to enjoy spinach. They're the friendliest and most down to earth owners. If you want to try something different this is the spot! Yes, free samples too!“
“very good & authentic indian. when someone says indian food I think of swagat. My chicken tenders & mac & cheese girlfriend makes an exception for this place, provided she gets a delicious mango margarita. have had some interesting interactions with staff but for the most part they are attentive & knowledgeable.“
“Is it Indian? No! It's Fijian! I was a little confused, but it doesn't matter, because it's delicious! I got a two-entree plate, with chicken curry and "potatoes with cabbage". I also ordered a side of Naan, but they were out, so they suggested the Bhajiya instead. I had no idea what that was, but if you know me, you know that I just went ahead and ordered it anyway! After eating, I went back to the cart and asked, "what that thing a Pakora?". I was told that it's the Fijian version of a Pakora (go google, "Bhajiya" right now, lol). I told 'em, "well, that was the best version of a Pakora I've ever had!". Taking chances at food carts is a good idea, m'kay?“
“It was good. There are not choices though the way that you are used to, it's like a buffet that someone else makes for you. There is no menu to sit and order from, sadly. The chicken and the spinach that I had were okay, but like 5/10. The Chai and Naan are free, and are of the quality that you expect from free things.“
“Visited Charminar house on a Friday evening with friends, tried Tamil Nadu style dishes, Thalapakattu Mutton Biriyani, Karaikudi Chicken Masala, Chennai 65 and Pepper Chicken. All the dishes are very tasty, finally found a place for good Tamil food ?“
“I got the mango lassi, samosas, & gulab jamun. Very tasty! It took about half an hour to get my food, but I’m not holding that against them! It was busy at the pod & the small snack (I wasn’t hungry enough for more) was more than worth the wait. I think I’ll try their punjabi paratha, raita, & halwa!“
“Vegetarian options: I told the cashier I wanted a selection of 4 different vegetarian choices that we'd share family style and he suggested great options. We also added the Gobi Manchurian (Cauliflower) that was a daily special option. Indian food is my favorite ethnic cuisine and I've tried food from many regions but nothing has ever been quite like this. It was fresh and light. Each dish was richly flavored without being too spicy (hot). My kids had no problem eating it.We appreciated the self service counters so you could pack your food to go without waiting. We enjoyed browsing the "spice market" with food and souvenirs while our food was being prepared. The atmosphere was fun and uniquely decorated.Parking: Parking is sparse and after circling many times through the narrow neighborhood streets my husband dropped me off and parked while I ordered and got a table.Wheelchair accessibility: Our daughter was in a wheelchair and we had no problem sliding her up under-the-table around with the rest of our family.“
“This is such a lovely spot for Indian food. The gentleman running the cart was super friendly, and he made everything fresh to order. Nothing more comforting than freshly made chai and chole bhature! This hit the spot on a cold day. I'll definitely return.“
“It's a delicious buffet for Lunch, The also buffet has a variety of cuisine Indian food such as chicken, lamb( Halal), and a mix of vegetables. by the way, the restaurant is close to the Airport, so if you are interested in Indian cuisine, do not hesitate to get into the restaurant...“
“Apologies for the less than exciting looking photo. It's hard to photo dosa in the dark! I had been having a dosa craving for ages and was excited to find a truck that had dosa. I was a little skeptical at first since they also have kolaches, donuts, and biscuits and gravy. I got the chicken dosa which was tasty. They definitely didn't skimp on the dosa since it was three layers deep in the box! I thought the flavors were good overall. The sambal and chutney had a nice spice that really added quite a bit. The filling could have maybe used just a hint more spice. Overall, super happy and warm inside now.“
“This is my go-to stop for lunch during the week because the deal is too good. You get three pieces of naan, rice, and three hot choices from their lunch buffet and it comes in at about $15 with tip. The amount of food you get is totally worth it. I always eat half and then save the other half for lunch the next day. Great deal! Their dinner ordering is also incredible and the portions are excellent. The staff is incredible as well! Tita is so friendly, remembers my name, and always has a huge smile on her face! I absolutely love this place and hype it up to all of my coworkers and neighbors in the area.“
“Food was delicious! Recommend the samosas, chicken vindaloo, and chicken saag. The only reason I’m not putting five stars for food is because there were a couple sharp bones mixed in with the chicken saag, which could be a hazard. The price wasn’t bad for a full course meal as well. Service was attentive and kind. Overall, am satisfied.“
“My husband and I LOVE this restaurant. Since moving to the Bethany area 2 years ago, we have eaten here, on average, about once a week. It was that good (and cost efficient)!!That said, in recent months, the prices have increased exponentially, and the hours are inconsistent. It used to not be a big deal that you had to actually order and pay for rice separately, but with the prices of everything going up, it kindof feels like a ripoff :(. We went from paying around $35 per order to nearly $50 for the exact same meal. That said, the chicken is melt-in-your-mouth delicious. We really loved this place.“
“Ive been all over the world and everywhere I go I must try 1 or 2 India Restutants in the local area where ever I am. India Oven is thee number 1 best India Food that I've ever had !!!! The flavors are explosive !!!! We got the Onion Bhaji, Dahl Soup, and the Chicken Tiki Mala, Butter Chicken and Gosht Vindaloo. They have an amazing red hot sauce paste so front forget to ask for it. Everything is cooked Gresham from scratch and cooked to order. The owners are such sweet people and the service was very attentive !!!! If I could give them 10 stars I would !!!! Thanks India Ive for such a great experience !!!!Vegetarian options: There is lots of options for a Vegetarian.Parking: Parking is 100% free and there is plenty of parking on the street.Kid-friendliness: They are very friendly people here.Wheelchair accessibility: Its very easy to get inside with a wheel chair because its all at street level and there is no stairs.“
“I sample some chicken marsala two weeks ago a friend had. I placed a to go order while I was on my lunch. I sampled everything once I got back to work. IT WAS SOOOOO DELICIOUS AND EXTREMELY WELL SEASONED. The food was sooo good when I got home from work; I heated up more of it. DANG IT!!! Was just as good as the first bite. I was up at 2:22 am finishing off the rest. Justin was amazing and has the best food selection advice. Please visit. I swear you won't be disappointed. Signed Tenise“
“Great cart pod location. The food was tops. Garlic Naan brought the garlic, and the butter chicken was rich and delicious. Heard dinner service gets really crowded, but being here for lunch opening, we got our food fast.Vegetarian options: Samosas were great.“
