“Just what you’d like to expect from a small town tavern. Good food, good service, and clean. We had a group of 8 there for lunch today. Food was fast and service was friendly. This will be one of my lunch stops when in Oregon.”
“I've had a great time with the courteous staff at the bar, to order food, & the motel. Very friendly front desk ladies. My problem is with the Chevron station on this property. The motel is open today during the snowstorm on 1/14/2024. I was able easily get a room to work nights in Halsey for 3 days. However today (sunday) during the snow & ice, the restaurant & the bar were both closed, so we couldn't order food at either. Although last night from the bar I ordered a cheeseburger with fries, that were excellent. So people were saying that the Chevron 50 yards away on the truck stop property, had their Deli open. When I got there, the man at the back register pointed me to the deli up front. I meandered my way up there, to find two other gentlemen waiting to order also. But no one to serve from the deli. I motioned for the back register fellow, to see if he could get a start with the the first two fellas. He said no he could not, but if we wanted corn dogs, he could serve those & ring them up at his back til. I asked everyone where the deli attendant was, they all pointed outside to the propane tanks. Turns out the deli attendant was out there pumping propane & not attending his deli post. 2-3 other customers came to the deli also, only to get upset when they learned where the deli guy was at. I waited a total of 15 minutes & still no deli attendant, so I left. I went straight across I-5, to the Shell station, & got what I couldn't get at Chevron. Here's my question Chevron, is it commonplace at your location, to have your deli attendant, with customers waiting to order from the said deli, outside pumping propane, then come inside ( at sometime) & handle deli meats & cheeses for sandwiches? If it is, please let us all know now, so we can never visit your establishment again. JB.”
“Wow! This restaurant seriously blew us away. My family of 4 were the only ones sitting down for lunch here on a Thursday but we were so excited to try this place out and it did not disappoint. We’ve eaten Indian food in Portland and Seattle and this is the best and most authentic food we’ve ever had. We drove from Eugene where the Indian food options are lacking in quality and we found our dishes to be truly amazing! The chicken tikka masala was sweet and luxurious, the veggie samosas were spicy and fresh and the veggie dumplings were out of this world! I’ve never had anything so yummy with such good sauces too. My husband and I adored the lamb curry which was bursting with flavor that we are still talking about. Our kids loved it and we will definitely be back again soon! The owner was so sweet telling us about the history of the restaurant, so friendly and kind. So so glad there are authentic restaurants like this with quality food made with love and care!Kid-friendliness: Big tables and kid friendly booths, kid friendly drinks and food options.”
“I’ve only been here a few times but I just love this place. Makes you feel at home with great home made food. I got the breakfast sandwich with everything on it this morning and that English muffin was stacked and just perfect. Also their home made cinnamon rolls are the best in the world.”
“Excellent food! The green salsa is the best I've ever had and the 2 for $20 lunch deal was fantastic considering the large portions. Definitely recommend! They have shredded beef that is very tender and flavorful!!”
“The coffee here is phenomenal, and the owner is super nice. I have never had a bad experience at Latte Da. I take out of town guests here frequently and they’re equally impressed. 5 stars ?”
“I tried this place for the first time and love it I had a shot in the dark with some coconut flavoring I'll put it next to Dutch super sweet person and good quality ”
“We're from Texas and drove up for our kids to compete in the Junior Olympics in Eugene but we're staying in Brownsville. We hadn't had Mexican / TexMex in a week so we went to Armando's for dinner on 7/22/23. The reputation of Mexican food in Oregon isn't great so we went in with low expectations. We were very pleasantly surprised! Staff was very helpful and let our kids put together options that weren't really even on the menu. My son had a half chicken and cheese quesadilla and beans and rice as his meal. My daughter had a crunchy taco with beans and rice as well. Wife and I split the beef fajitas. Everything was really delicious. We very much enjoyed our meal. If you're in the area and looking for Mexican I can definitely recommend it.”
“This place is operated by some ladies who really know how ro assemble a burrito. Their habanero salsa is flavorful and not too spicy, I love that they have a burrito punch card so for every 10 burritos I get 1 get one free. The best thing about finally having a good burrito spot in my little town again is that this place is within walking distance no matter where you live here. Please support these ladies because they deserve to be successful.”
“Stopped at 99 Grill on way home to Salem from Eugene. Food was great (we had "Soldier Boy" and chicken fried steak) and service was also very good (even though our server admitted she wasn't on her "A" game). Kept coffee cup full which is always a plus. Locals all said hi to us as they walked in. Worth a stop and for us, a return trip.”
“Absolutely amazing! Was at the late Show and everyone was fantastic from the doorman, servers, Host/opener, middle and of course the Legend that is Adam Ray!! 10/10 will return soon”
“A gem in Brownsville! Michelle and her staff are lovely hosts and know their stuff! Love that she supports local farmers when she can. Home made food and delicious wine pairings. What more could you ask for.”
“The Junk in the Trunk burger was creative but it's just a burger. Not special really. It is very big though. Could probably share one. I may have to try one of their brats.”
“Food and atmosphere are great! I'm coming back for that quesadilla!!. Back again, still a great place. Great service and great prices. Love the menu! 2-18-24 update- still awesome ?”
“Just rolled out of this place :)1st the service was outstanding. The 2 ladies were very on purpose with everyone and the food was ridiculously awesome.2nd portions were huge and left us knowing we will be back....”

“It's been a while since we've been to The Voo. We used to play trivia so went there weekly. One of the last times we went the food was awful. It was so awful I can remember it years later- I got the special where they were out of the potatoes and subbed plain rice, and the fresh veggies were canned green beans. No joke, we still talk about the nastiest green beans ever made. They were constantly out of things too. We finally just stopped going. I'm happy to say that we went again for trivia recently, and something changed with the food for the better. The fries were really delicious, and I am not a huge fry person.I also loved the fry sauce, which I usually don't touch. The patty melt was good, and the prices were reasonable. I was really happy to see how much the food had improved. I hope the positive improvements stay/continue!”
“The staff was super sweet and the food was fabulous! We went for the first time and will be coming back! The bartender was amazing! We had great drinks and delicious food!Truly a, small town, hidden gem!”
“One of.my must haves and must stops when I'm home for a visit! Only open Friday and Saturday I missed it last time I was home for visit so took care not to miss again.”
