“This is a great place to eat breakfast, or whatever diner food you are looking for. Nothing super fancy. I've been there several times, sometimes it is slow with very little customers, other times it is packed. The food I've been served was always hot and tasty and they will replace something if their truck delivery is late or delayed (this happened before). All servers are cordial, with one in particular, Flavio, who is very quick, nice and even remembers my order. He seems to be the busiest of the bunch, so I hope management sees this and rewards him accordingly. Overall, I come to this location for the speed, service and overall friendliness of the place. Again, it's nothing fancy, but a nice spot to eat at when you get hungry!“

“if you are visiting Portland and this is an absolute must of a place to go visit. the hotcakes house is a Portland institution. they always have specials going on so you never know what is going to be offered and available. the great place to grab a snack after the bars closed or to show up in the middle of the day and waste 2 hours waiting for your next appointment.“

“Walked in at 9 AM on a beautiful Saturday morning and asked for a cheeseburger and fry's. The burger was huge, with sliced tomato, onion and lettuce. The fry's were hot and delicious. I sat at the bar and was taken back to the way cafe's looked when I was a kid. Tracy, the server was a jewel. Parking is no problem. Most everyone else was eating breakfast, which looked awesome. You won't regret the food or the ambiance. Do it and enjoy. SMP“

“This is my favorite Chinese food in all of Portland! When you walk up to the truck you see the older couple working hard, and are met with friendliness and warmth as they take your order and start working on it. They always make sure they got the order correct, and the food is always spectacular. We regularly order the lo mein, general tao's, orange chicken, broccoli beef, and crab puffs. Truly the best! I love that they have combo meals too, most Chinese restaurants only have family style portions of each item. The combo meals are still great portions! I can't recommend Tan's Happy Kitchen enough!“
