“A true gem waiting for you along I-5 for all your food, beverage, and Tesla charging needs! Usually driving along I-5 I'm trying to get from point a to point b without stopping to smell the roses, but Olsen Run Winery is a fun and unexpected place to stop. It appears out of no where along a stretch of highway and grass fields, and it is an awesome place to stop and eat (but it's not hidden...there's signs on both sides of the freeway, so it's pretty hard to miss). Personally, I'm a fan of their bacon cheeseburger and fries, but I've tried pretty much everything on the menu and nothing disappoints (the veggie patty is also surprisingly delicious and different from your typical roadside veggie patty). Everyone who works there is super friendly and welcoming. If you're traveling with your canine companions there's tons of space for them to roam and sniff. Also, the bathrooms are super clean and spacious (helpful if your canine companions don't let you go to the restroom alone)! There's indoor and outdoor seating, so you can be comfortable in any weather Oregon throws your way. If you happen to be lucky enough not to be the driver, you can enjoy a wine tasting or even a glass (or bottle) of wine. My favorite is the traditional method sparkling wine, but having tasted up and down the Pacific Northwest, I find that all their wines are a wonderful representation of the Willamette Valley, but also have a unique quality that sets them apart. Oh, and the wine slushies! Come on! We're not talking some slushie machine full of sugar and juice. These are made with real fruit and wine, and they are not only refreshing, but also delicious! They even have comedy shows and live music on certain nights. And, for you Tesla drivers, there's a bunch of charging stations. I don't have one myself, but after sitting in a scary parking lot somewhere in Northern California for an hour waiting for a friend's Tesla to charge (with no food or bathrooms nearby), this seems like the place to be if you are in need of a Tesla charge. Definitely worth a stop if you're driving through or live in one of the nearby areas.“

Bluebird Hill Cellars Winery •
25059 Larson Rd, Monroe - 6.84 miles

“Dropped in on a Thursday afternoon with my wife & tried their whole line-up (14 wines! Ok, we split the tasting. :) It's a smallish place, but has great outdoor seating (dog friendly) & a nice view of the surrounding valley & hillsides. The wines ranged from good to great, both red & white. Many were made from grapes grown on the property, and others using fruit sourced from neighboring growers (plus a very nice syrah & syrah blend using wine sourced from WA). The owners spent a lot of time just hanging out & chatting with us - we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and suggest you try them out!“

Broadley Vineyards Winery • $
265 S 5th St, Monroe - 6.84 miles

“This place has some of the best wone I've ever had in the valley. Upon entering into their tasting room, one would not think this place would have some of the best Pinots around, but that's what makes broadley so surprisingly mind-blowing. My husband and I ordered a tasting, each. From the Pinot Grigio (far from a wine I would typically order) to their reserve Pinot Noir, WOWZA. An added bonus is their use of sustainable practices in harvest and the overall perspectives of the wine makers (we were able to chat with them), I felt like this is a place I will forever support. One word of caution---you won't want to stop guzzling it down! Smooth and flavorful! We cannot wait to return.“

Benton-Lane Winery Wineries •

“This winery was very classy with great tasting wines. Our hostess, Rachel was very knowledgeable and informed and love to share the history of the property. She had a great and fun personality. easily recommend this winery. The patio is beautiful and the property and building as well. There's not a sign (yet) for the tasting room. It's the first building on the property. Visit Benton Lane winery you will enjoy it.“
