“Every Memorial Day and/or Thanksgiving, I make a trip out to visit Westrey's warehouse in McMinnville. Dave and Amy are such great hosts who make amazing wine! I always have to buy pinot from Justice, Oracle, and Abbey Ridge because I can never decide on a favorite because they are so elegant and interesting in their own way.If you want to support a small family winery, this is it! Don't miss it on your trip to McMinnville!“
“If you're serious about Willamette Valley wine and haven't found Ricochet yet, fix that immediately.
The Pilot Blanc stopped me cold. Sourced from some of the oldest Pinot Blanc plantings in the valley, it's completely unadulterated. Gently pressed, neutral barrel aged, and utterly alive. No winemaker fingerprints, just the vineyard doing its thing. It's the kind of white that makes you rethink what Oregon can do outside of Pinot Noir.
The Gamay is equally arresting. Bright, precise, and impossible to put down.
Then there's the Off-Line series . A sparkling Grüner Veltliner and a sparkling Tempranillo Rosé that manage to feel both playful and serious at once. Dry, food-friendly, and genuinely exhilarating. The kind of wines you open on the patio and finish before you meant to.
Winemaker Erich makes the whole experience feel personal and unpretentious. He'll answer anything, and as club members we've had the chance to get our hands into production, which is rare and genuinely special.
This is a winery with a clear point of view and the craft to back it up. Highly recommended.“
“Had a wonderful wine tasting today with Miriam. She was kind and knowledgeable! She taught us so much about the area and the Brittan family and the owner is on their 51st harvest! We loved the wine. It’s the first Chardonnay I’ve ever liked. They’re in a busy season so we got to see a bit of their process and learn more about how the wine is made. We will absolutely come back.“
“Wines that are a good mix of displaying typical Oregon pinot fruit, but with enough restraint to let the complexity shine through.“
“A beautiful spot to enjoy a glass of wine & fresh creative food delicacy. A true special occasion destination.“
“Great place to do a side-by-side tasting of 4-6+ single varietal Pinot Noirs, plus some whites and bubbles (real Champagne style). The warm rosemary cashews were an excellent accompaniment that helped to bring out the variations in the wines.“
“This is a hidden gem! Tucked in the hills, the tasting room has a beautiful view of the vineyard and forest. There are wild turkeys nearby adding to the charm. The wines are named after Persian historical figures and the staff share the unique stories and connections to the Persian winery owners. We had a lovely visit and the wines are all great!“
“We received another case of your fabulous wines today. Megan gave us attentive service from start to finish.“
“One of my favorite wines and couples in the Valley. Tim & Denise are warm, knowledgeable and professional.
I always feel part of the family.
Tim's 20+ years of winemaking show in the quality and approachable style of their wines.“
“We stopped in while driving by on a Sunday morning and had a great time. Sahara took great care of us. She was very knowledgeable and fun to talk to. We were impressed by all of their wines! If you are in the area I would definitely stop by to check the place out and try some wine“
“This place was a great find. First, wonderful staff. They don’t rush you. They explain their wines clearly, but without any semblance of pretension. They also pour you an actual tasting (those who have been to Napa will understand).
On a nice day, sitting outside is a given (the people watching is great, as you get to see the push and pull between young and old locals and odd tourists as they ramble in front of you).
The wines? Exceptional to good. Why no actual ratings? Simple. You choose for you. I am not doing the work, then finding out that you and I like different things. Trust me, the staff at this place will guide you and not push you to try different wines. They will also go out of their way to make sure you have a great time.
When you leave (hopefully, with a bottle), you will feel like you had an experience that is suggestive of the phrase: “Nice place, great people, good wine, and NOT Napa.”
Not that Napa is bad. But Jacob Williams could teach some of those Napa wineries a thing about producing a product to enjoy (at a price you will accept). And this location, in the midst of McMinnville, thrives because it has the staff to make it simple: sit, sip, enjoy, and buy if you want to do so. Trust me, at least one of their offerings will make it into your basket.
Napa? Did you hear me? By the way, Jacob Williams is closer to the vibe of Mondavi than Mondavi has been in decades.“
“We are so fortunate to have The Eyrie Vineyards in Oregon. If you visit, please learn the history of this vineyard so you will understand why Oregon is able to maintain its beauty and bounty.“
“I love Rob's exceptional wines! As the Beverage Director at Sawgrass Country Club in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida I literally have access to just about any wine there is in the world, not just the Willamette Valley. While I haven't had a R.Stuart wine I did not enjoy, the single vineyard Daffodil Hill Pinot Noir is a stand out for me every year. I highly recommend stopping by Rob's tasting room when visiting Mcminnville. You will not be disappointed!“
“Retour Winery is an absolute gem in downtown McMinnville. The tasting room is stunning—elegant, warm, and inviting, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy some truly incredible wines. Lindsay Woodard’s passion and expertise shine through in every bottle. It’s clear that Retour is built on a love for craftsmanship and quality, honoring her family’s deep roots in the Willamette Valley. Whether you’re a seasoned wine lover or just beginning to explore, Retour is a must-visit.“
“My Dad is a Vietnam Vet. He always said…(You don’t have to be perfect at life just work hard at being your best!! And just like Horseshoes and Hand Grenades… you still hit the target.)Thank you for keeping this memory alive!! Great Wine ???“
“I recently did a flight of the distilled spirits and was blown away by the 22 year old brandy. All the bourbons I tasted were also good.
It's a neat place that combines wine and spirits tasting under one roof. They also had cards and board games to play while you're there. Overall really a nice experience.“
“I always want my reviews be helpful and factual so I’ll say bottom line, we loved our stay and would recommend it. However, there are so key details that I felt important to share. For some, these things might matter and some it might not. To us, they did. PROS: The water. I travel a lot and hoard waters on my trip so I was shocked when they said they don’t have bottles on site. But that’s OK! The water is delicious straight from the tap, extensively filtered and truly does taste like bottled water. The views. The views are spectacular and were part of the reason we chose to stay here. The shower in our suite. The two shower heads, the water temp, pressure, tiles, stone, large bathroom, etc. It’s quiet. Very quiet! Almost too quiet for me though but if you’re looking to disconnect, this is the place. No TV in the suite. I actually loved this part but my husband not so much. Also added to how quiet it is. They’re very attentive making sure you get in OK, particularly because we arrived after hours. Their tasting is definitely worth incorporating into your stay. The wine is great and we had the opportunity to sit and chat with the owner and that was a really nice experience! CONS: Coffee. They provide you a serving of coffee prepped the night before. I’m used to unlimited when staying in hotels but they were pleased to provide extra. Breakfast pastries. They do not have a kitchen onsite, also surprising and not clear when booking. Luckily, not a big deal for us because they have great recommendations that are 10mins away so we got to try some cute local spots! Otherwise, stock up on leftovers or snacks throughout your stay because there’s not much else out there. That’s also how we got the incredible views but no concierge or front desk 24/7. Their hours are 10-4 and they do have a phone number to reach them but something important to know ahead of time. Again, would recommend! These were simply things that were important to us, but might not be for others. 🍷“

“My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time here. Robin (our wine tasting guide) did an excellent job of explaining all of the wines to us and was so much fun chatting with. She really knew the wines and how they were grown and did a wonderful job of explaining everything. We ended up leaving the tasting room with more wines to take home than we expected. A great experience and fun location!“
