Hands down the best restaurant in Hood River - Roman & Amy have created an oasis of world class cuisine & a understated European atmosphere in an unexpected location. This is your date night location.

We thought this was fantastic! We were able to call and place an order at 4:30 prior to their 5 pm opening time. They processed everything easily over the phone and the person we spoke with was so friendly. The food was delicious! The menu was available on Instagram and we were pleased with our selections. I loved my lemon chicken skewers and my husband loved the squid ink spaghetti.

This place is run by a husband (chef) and his wife (server). The food is excellent, and so is the service. The menu is small, but everything is excellent. The appetizers are very good. The Pot de Creme for dessert is the best dessert I've ever had.

We’ve been to Kin several times and never disappoints - small setting with an excellent chef from Czeck. Interesting dishes including the cauliflower starter and favorite mains include duck confit w sauerkraut and potatoes and the pork tenderloin schnitzel with apple salad

Wow!!!! I was recommend during a wine sampling. OMG i am so happy i went. They do not take reservations and open at 5:30 pm. This is a husband and wife team that gets some help from their kids during peak hours. All food cooked to order with the perfect portions. Prices are low for this type of food and service. Be sure to get one dish as an appetizer. And the two of us ordered different meals. Because they cook to order one came before the other which turned out for the better. We both got to share each dish and so glad that is how it turned out. We started with roasted cauliflower their signature dish. Then Duck confit with some of the best sauerkraut/ with potatoes ever. Then our pork schnitzel with fresh apple slaw was served. This was crisp from the julienne apples and crisp not greasy schnitzel. If you are in Hood River this is a must do restaurant.

This place is AHHMAZING! It does have a limited menu, but everything is so well thought out and delicious. The owners could not be more lovely and passionate about their craft. I will come here every time I am in Hood River. If you happen to find the service slow, remember it's just one cook (who prepares everything fresh when ordered), one hostess/waitress and their two children helping.

Was recommended to come here by a local and I am so glad they did. The best service and meal I had in a LONG time. Even though the menu is limited, seemed that it was catered to you. One of the owners (so sorry I didn't get her name) ran the front of the house and was AMAZING! She was attentive and explained everything. 3 plates were shared, it was amazing. So glad we took this suggestion. Will definitely be coming back. I highly suggest the mushroom toast, duck and pork schnitzel.

Amazing ambience and food! I love how simple the menu is here. The wine is only one choice per category (red, white, rose), but local and fabulous - eliminating the stress over choosing. Dishes are OUTSTANDING. the mushroom toast is not to miss, but honestly everything was wonderful. Nothing like this in the gorge! So glad you're here!!

Thank you for such a great dining experience! We went to Kin for my wife's birthday and it was excellent. I think what makes Kin so special is the food, ambiance, and friendliness from the owners. I felt like we were part of their home for a few hours. They made my wife's birthday dinner super special. The scene: you enter the restaurant and it is intimate, rustic, charming, and inviting. There are not a lot of tables which is a huge plus imho and it feels like you are in the proprietor's home because, well.... you are. We were seated and and ordered a couple of glasses of wine while our son began drawing and appreciating all of the cool interior details of the room. You can tell the two owners (who btw, are the only people working) love what they do. All that said, we knew we were in for a great meal. The food was made with love. There is no other way to put it. We had the radicchio, cauliflower, schnitzel, and potatoes. They made a special bowl of buttered noodles for our son. The pasta was homemade and he loved it. He also went nuts over the schnitzel. Back to the food. Everything had flavor dimensions that were completely authentic to the care they gave in preparing each dish. It was outstanding. I would recommend everything we ordered. The desert was delicious and they even brought our son his own mini desert which was completely unexpected. Kin would succeed anywhere. We are incredibly lucky to have them here in Hood River. We are local hood river folks. There are few places in town that can create the atmosphere and incredible flavors that Kin provides. There is nothing like Kin in the Gorge. If you are looking for a restaurant with flavor, authenticity, care, love, all packaged into an intimate experience, then you must try Kin. There is nothing else in Hood River like it! We'll see you soon!

This place is a total jaw-dropper. The artful interior design is “cabin-in-the-woods” cozy, which matches the unassuming but clearly refined menu. The food is just as satisfying and comforting as it is delicate and nuanced. The prices are great for the quality of cuisine and the ambiance. One of the best places to take a date or a have a casual one-on-one business meeting.
