“Have to be patient because she is a one woman operation but the food is excellent. Cooked fresh, piping hot.
Backdrop of the Wallowa Mountains just makes it all that much better.”

“So much to see even on a cloudy foggy day. Bring a jacket, if not buy a cool sweatshirt, so many of us did.”

“We were headed to Wallowa Lake at 5:40am and nobody was open for coffee. We saw Cheyenne Cafe was l opened at 6am so we called and asked if they could do coffee to go. When we pulled up we waited out front until the doors opened and the person who answered the phone said he was trying to wave us in earlier so we could come get the coffee. We just didn't see him lol. We ordered cinnamon rolls to go. After fishing, we went back for lunch. The burger we ordered was amazing and the fries were the best fries I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend this cafe to anyone. Prices are perfect and the portions are huge. I can't wait to go back and get breakfast next! Thank you Cheyenne Cafe for such amazing service and good food!”

“Great Mexican food - was exactly what we wanted. Had enchiladas and chimichango and both were delicious. House sauces are both tasty and worth trying! Service was promt.”

“Great atmosphere, large portions (if you choose; they also offer half orders which is a rarity it seems) and fantastic cocktails. Food takes a bit longer but good things come to those who wait. Quality food takes time to prepare and that’s what you get. Take the opportunity to relax and enjoy the dining experience.”

“We chose Slack for dinner before heading to the lake for the Shake the Lake fireworks show. Spirits were high already but this small restaurant really did add to it. We took patio seating, which required a quick wipe down from the scattered showers earlier in the day. The outdoor fire pit was a good touch but really the most atmospheric point of fixation was the big beautiful mountains being unshrouded from the clouds as the skies cleared.
Our waitress did a good job. Although we did go almost 30 minutes without a water refill, she brought a pitcher over on the next revolution so I didn't ding for that.
I ordered the ribeye, but after she suggested the prime rib that had been smoked all day long I changed my order. My wife stuck with the ribeye and the kids got fish n chips and chicken bacon salad.
The monstrous 19 oz cuts came out juicy and cooked with skill. The smoke on the PR was delicious. Everyone agreed I ordered the best food. The horseradish cream and au jus was good. I kind of wish the cream would have had a bit more bite.
The ribeye was cooked medium, just the way she loves it, with a nice slight crisp searing on it. Both steaks were very juicy and the only point of criticism I can really offer is there was a lot of fat on them. But it didn't bother me because the cuts were big and we really got to eat our fill.
The salads that came out were good. Blue cheese dressing needed some actual crumble in it, but it was nice and thick, properly coating the vegetables in my salad when I dipped them.
Baked potatoes were done just right, nice and soft and came with extra whipped butter as requested, and they were salted the right amount.
We ended up taking leftovers with us. The prices weren't terrible and dinner for 4 only cost about $120. I think we'll be back next time we are down in Joseph!”

“Great small town Cafe, with the family feel once you enter. Greeted by a busy waitress that still made time to make sure she knew we were there.
Love the 70’s soft rock playing while everyone worked. Restaurant was busy, one waitress( that kept up) , coffee was great and always a full cup.
We got pancakes ( was told batter is made fresh everyday from scratch) . Lots more on the menu to eat through the next time we are in town. Would definitely recommend.”

“I've visited many Subway restaurants in different parts of the country and my hometown Subway is the best! Good service and they take pride in the food they serve.”
“Attached to a self-serve car wash, very unassuming little coffee hut. However, the gals working were extremely friendly and the prices were the best in town. Coffee was good, nothing blow your shorts off good, but a nice caffeine boost and was tasty. Would definitely recommend.”

“Beautiful patio! Great food and it was very flavorful! Quick service because we were in a bit of a rush but the server was top notch and communicated well. Christian is the man!
Free chips and salsa, just hangout and enjoy the atmosphere.
I don’t know what the credit card charge was about, but if you’re ever unhappy with your credit card processors switch to toast. You won’t regret it. They give you a bunch of nice new equipment. Tell them Hardware Brewing from Kendrick ID sent you, and they’ll help you switch over no cost. Then you can get rid of the credit card fee.”

“The best Mexican food and Leo is great! He was the host, waiter, bartender, cook and entertainment all in one when we visited. Wish we lived closer (5 hours away) and I would go back every week. Oh, and the building is very nice and clean. 5 stars for sure.”

“We’ve been coming to Joseph, OR for the last 8 or so years. It’s a beautiful place that continues to attract us. Over recent years, a few food places have sadly closed. Fortunately, The Blythe Cricket is still pleasing customers. Today, I had The Basic breakfast sandwich with bacon. Fantastic! Easily in the Top 5 breakfast sandwiches of all time for me. That’s 64 years. The atmosphere is worth noting. Everyone seemed genuinely happy to be there and enjoying food and coffee. Keep up the good work, and tasty coffee as well. 👌”
