Not sure I've eaten in a quonset hut before. They're not doing lunch anymore, so the full dinner box had me stuffed. Ribs were tender with a fine rub and smoke. Chicken tasty but sees endemic for bbqd restaurant meat to be just a bit soft. Deep fried poet wedges top notch. I'm pretty picky about cornbread but theirs is a pretty good. Mac and cheese a little dry. Fun selection of canned beverages.
Hands down, some of the best brisket I’ve ever had. And I’ve had a lot of good brisket. I’m a Texas native and before moving to Oregon I lived in Louisiana for 12 years. I was just starting to accept that I would never find local BBQ as good as where I’m from. But I have to say Clay’s brisket and bbq sauce rivals with the best of them. Thanks and we’ll be back!
First trip since Clay's relocation to King Rd. The new location has a bunch of perks- parking lot, nice building, comfy warm dining area. Order at the counter, limited menu- but ribs & chicken are the more popular items, who can complain? Decent selection of bevys in a conviently located fridge. Had the combo plate w/ slaw & beans. Came with a nice bit of cornbread & sweetened butter & pickles. The smoke was perfect, the sauce had good heat & the rub had great flavor. 10 out of...read full review
