Overall a good experience, although we left hungry and came home and ate leftovers. This was disappointing after spending $130. We ordered 3 items up front not knowing how the size portions would play out. The plan was to order more if we were still hungry. We were still hungry but it took soooo long for the food to come out that we had to go. We had already been there an hour and a half. The drinks and food that we did have were very good. The citrus salad was probably our favorite.

Arden is one of our favorite restaurants in Portland. However, I do have some observations because this visit wasn't as good as others. The wine list should have more notes along with it. We ordered a bottle of wine and described what we wanted, and it was about $100 and the wine was not described well. Did not enjoy it. Really don't think you should be leaving that kind of stuff up to servers who have their individual preferences. Again, wine, tasting notes printed on the menu would be extremely helpful and it would be nice to offer some sort of classic California shutter Chardonnay under $100. The pasta was amazing as was the oysters, but the trout was overwhelming because of all the heavy tahini flavors. It seems like the items on the menu have been reduced. Love the ambience about the wine and the food made it less enjoyable.

I simply cannot rave enough about this restaurant! While researching great date night dinner spots, I came across Arden—and when my hairstylist also recommended it, I knew I had to book it. From the moment we stepped in, everyone was incredibly friendly, fun, and welcoming. We chose to sit at the counter and opted for the chef's tasting menu. We enjoyed delicious mocktails, sampled extraordinary dishes, and savored every moment. Our server was absolutely lovely, and it was such a treat to chat with the chef preparing the appetizers and desserts right in front of us. We even spotted the head chef as he arrived to dine himself! We had the most wonderful time from start to finish and are already planning our next visit. Arden is top-notch—an absolute gem!

No words can fully describe how good the food was. The flavors were intricate, with hints of candied orange here and a touch of nuts there, elevating the foie gras to new heights. The attention to detail in how different ingredients were combined created a symphony of flavors that danced across my palate, making each bite a pleasure to the taste buds. Everything was delicious, and the Bavette was so good we had to order two servings.

We went here for our anniversary on a Saturday night and had the absolute best time. We ordered the chef's prix fixe menu. The food was incredible. Fresh, high quality ingredients were combined in such a way that made the dishes pop but not in a way that was overdone. Everything was perfectly seasoned. What I'd like to highlight is the impeccable service. Very possibly the best service we've ever had. We will be back and encourage everyone to try this lovely gem of a restaurant.

My friend and I had never gone to this type of fancy dinner before so we decided to just do it for fun and omgosh! It is was amazing! The waiters were professional yet funny and non-threatening. The food was DELICIOUS (we got the Chef's Prix Fixe). I don't even like beets or turnips and yet somehow they made them so we'll I ate up both! And the cheesecake with passionfruit was AMAZING. 10/10, no notes. The only bad part was finding parking since it's street parking only. Cozy atmosphere with warm lighting. We were there for almost 3hrs and it was worth every minute ^.^

Last night we had our 4th dinner at Arden. We love sitting at the counter so we can see the intricate steps that the calm but efficient staff take to create the fantastic food. The entire staff from servers, hosts, chef/staff, and wine servers appear to be expert in their areas. There is nothing pretentious about the menu, plating, or service. But that doesn't mean that the food is uninteresting. There are tastes that we've never experienced before but there are no excessive or overbearing flavors so common in fine dining restaurants. Obviously, great care is taken with taste but also the textures and presentation are artfully addressed. There have never been unpleasant noise levels even though the restaurant has always been filled. It's not cheap, but the value of the experience is high.
