5 STARs hands down the best Mediterranean food in Portland

This was always the best Middle Eastern (Levant) food in town. But they haven't been open lately. Please tell me they're still in business! It is GREAT food.

Got to try their catered food and it's delicious! Loved how fresh and flavorful their food was. The chicken shawarma was nice and tender while the falafels were crispy. Their hummus was creamy and paired amazingly with their pita bread and spiced rice.

This spot got me through my time at PSU back in the late 90's; and I've been craving it ever since I graduated and left Portland. I'm glad to know Basha's is still in the park blocks as a PSU staple. Can't wait to stop by on my next visit to the Rose City!!!

Authentic family recipies you cannot get anywhere else! The best & made with love! Kafta & Coco curry chicken, falafel with baba ganoush, & a to die for lentil soup just to name a few. I live to far!

The chicken shwarma tastes like tuna salad. That's not right. How does one even get chicken to a tuna texture? It had zero shwarma favor. it just tasted like mayo. Not sure who eats shwarma like this. Gross. Cold too. They have fries on menu but don't serve fries.

Love this place! Delicious food and Great gluten free options! Love the garlic chicken!
I’ve eaten here 4 times during this last term, always getting the falafel - the plate or the wrap - both have been consistently good. The pickles are a strange addition, which I tried at first but now just ask for it with onions instead. If you’re curious, I’d say try it.The only suggestion I’d make to the cart management is to have the cashier pay attention to one customer at a time and consider thanking them. It’s not like there’s a line down the block to warrant being rushed to the side.

I've been eating at Bashas for the past 7 years. Always tasty, always fresh, and the service is always friendly. They could easily make a fortune just selling the coco sauce, but my favorite is having it with the lamb over rice. Friends tell me that the chicken coco is the real star. The mujadara and the falafel are great vegetarian options and the falafel is gluten free!! I highly recommend stopping by for lunch.

Surprised this place has so few reviews, considering they're a fixture on campus. Great affordable vegetarian and halal meat options. The odd-sounding French Fry Sandwich is amazing! Be prepared for intense garlic breath.
