This meal was forgettable. The rice was overcooked and mushy. The stir fry was bland and too liquidy, but the vegetables were well-cooked. Portions were a bit smaller than expected for the price. Additionally, we were surprised to see that they add an additional charge for the protein--ALL the proteins, including tofu and chicken -- which is not standard practice from my experience with Thai restaurants and makes the dishes overpriced.
We did takeout, which probably impacted the quality of the food.
I liked the brief impression that I got of the restaurant's atmosphere.

The food was fantastic, I particularly liked the yellow curry and crispy basil chicken. My 6 year old loved the satay and ate some broccoli too. I was there with four other adults and we enjoyed everything we ordered. It was a really easygoing, relaxed environment and we enjoyed not feeling rushed as we were visiting with a friend from out of town.

The fish sauce wings had delicious sauce, I wish the wings themselves had been a better quality. They were a bit chewy and not very tender.
Main dish was a chef's special with chicken, vegetables and fried basil. It had
star anise fragrance and flavor. We both liked that. Again, a delicious dish but chicken was chewy and it could have had a bit more sauce.
Dessert was purple rice with toasted coconut. It was warm and absolutely delicious!

I have been eating Thai food all my life and this place is by far the best. Please try their fish sauce wings, or their Tom Yum classic soup. Fresh and perfectly balanced.

City Thai is the best restaurant in Hillsdale and one of the best Thai restaurants around. They are constantly updating their menu and decor. The food is always consistently excellent and if you also want to be adventurous with the chef’s special you won’t be disappointed. Try the lychee martini and the lychee and beef salad.

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Hillsdale! They have consistent service, taste, and pricing. The new management recently made changes to the logo, interior decorating and staff. If you haven’t been, you have to try it out. I recommend the Pad Thai chicken or the Mango Tango curry.

City Thai is a Hillsdale staple. I have been eating here with my family since I was in elementary school at Reike. I am now in my early twenties and I still eat here with my family. The food has always been good and service is good too. I highly recommend.

Solid food and drink. Love that I can make South Park references. Good deal for takeout, saved our butts when our first kid was born.
