Certainly the best chocolate coming out of Portland. Absolutely ruined the others. Perfection.
Just found this little jewel. Had a chocolaty mocha and buttery biscuit...wonderful! Biscuit is light, fluffy and buttery, mocha was smooth with wonderful chocolate and coffee tones, not too sweet, not too bitter.
It's a bit hard to find, but it's in the same building as Olympia Provisions, across the street from Smith Tea building. Go thru the door, turn left down the hall. Very relaxing hangout!

Stopped into Ranger this afternoon for a mocha and it is probably the best mocha I’ve ever had. I spent some time talking to the barista (who was so sweet and friendly) about it and she noted it’s made with dark chocolate, so it’s nice and rich without being overly sweet. I’m never disappointed with Ranger—the quality is unmatched. It’s the only chocolate for me.

The staff, including Z and Caroline, are kind, resourceful, and use real, local ingredients. Customers love the bon bons, especially the Oregon maple ones, as well as the lemon pound cake. While the cafe offers limited food options, mainly pastries, it has a unique atmosphere. There are lots of bars and extras available as gifts for anyone traveling. While parking can be a challenge, the extraordinary chocolate and warm service make it a must-visit destination, perfect for picking up gifts or treats to share with others.
