One of my fave coffee shops in PDX. Staff is friendly and fun, coffee is great and the breakfast sandwiches can’t be beat, for a fair price and reasonable size.

Grendel's is genuinely one of my favorite cafes to visit in Portland. The food and coffee are more than reasonably priced and very tasty, and more importantly the folks who work here are incredibly kind and welcoming. They actually treat you like a person while you're here, which is hard to come by with practically any business in Portland. Its a smaller cafe, warm, cozy, and is a place I can spend hours and hours at. I wish they were open longer, but it's understandable that they closer earlier when they open so early. It's only been a great experience here, and I highly recommend! Grendel's Ghost is very tasty, and i get it half sweet and iced. Their Mac Daddy special is also fantastic.

Always wanted to check this spot out since I just moved in a few blocks up the road. Small, quiet spot with TONS of coffee options and specials for those who don’t know exactly what they want. Friendly staff who work quickly and announce loudly when your drink is ready. The music is just the right volume and you feel glad you stopped in. The drink I got was a 16oz Lavender Mocha with oat milk and an extra shot of espresso. Usually when I order a drink with an extra shot, all I end up tasting is the espresso and none of the additional flavors, so I went in thinking this might be a bad time however, this drink is easily, if not, the best iced flavored coffee drink I’ve ever had in Portland/in general. Great work, y’all. Will definitely be coming back.
Drink was $6.25 after everything.

Grendel’s is a fast and friendly little coffee shop off E Burnside, very close to Jupiter Hotel/Eastside Lodge. Every time I stay in Portland I come and get a bagel breakfast sandwich (which is always fresh and hot) and one of their fun drink specials, or a cappuccino (which they do well!). If you’re in the area looking for a good sandwich or a drink on the go definitely stop by!
