Mac n cheese was a very poor demonstration of this dish, dry pasta.no cheese. Brisket sandwich had no smoke flavor, sauce ok., bun was nice . Won't have these items again.

JJs is bomb. Came here after a long day at the river, and it hit the spot. As a Louisiana native, it was nice to get a taste of home. The customer service alone is worth the visit, but the food is awesome too. I haven't found good brisket in Portland until this place! Stoked to find this place for a nice convo and delish meal.

Delicious food and lovely staff! We had the dinner plate with brisket and pulled pork, and both were very tasty. The barbecue sauce had good flavor and spice, the potato salad was well seasoned, and the cornbread muffins were flavorful. Thank you!

Bro what are these pictures... Bro we don't eat like that.. idk a single Louisiana household that has any of these as a combo except the bbq and cornbread... Like bro what lol I bet money the owners aren't poc and aren't actually from Louisiana or if they are they from the suburbs like Metairie lol.
I gotta open up me a Louisiana restaurant and get real soul food out here frfr 💯💯 these places be trying but don't really know what they doing lol straight coning y'all 🤣
I now know for a fact that god exists. Not because I felt him. But because I felt his absence. So spoiled by his presence that I had become numb to it. God withdrew his hand from me the moment I looked into the eyes of the man in that food truck.
Corn bread was bomb. 5 stars

Let's start with the cornbread muffin, as it can only get better from that. It was bone dry and the bottom was burnt. Not pleasantly brown or such. Burnt. Next, please.
Enter hot links. Not hot. Think wieners with a waft of pepper, maybe. The ribs. Those have to be good, right? Falling off the bone, sure. But they lacked anything special or interesting. And the links and ribs were drowned in a generic Kansas City style sauce you've had before too many times.
Finally the potato salad. It was excellent. So, if you must come to this disappointing joint, order that. And don't be in a hurry for it.

Wow! We brought our eleven year old nephew to the Piedmont food carts and he chose JJ’s. He loved the baked beans and chicken sandwich, and I shared the three meats plate with my partner. It is the BEST BBQ IN PORTLAND! I will be coming here for BBQ from now on.

Hallelujah now this some BBQ!
can’t stop telling anyone who’ll listen, how amazing this place is!!!
These two made my laundromat afternoon an absolute pleasure! they were so friendly even though i didn’t have much to spend!
everything was a lil piece of true Louisiana!
their hospitality, the pulled pork (they have obviously been grown up with the southern secrets to true bar-b-coa!) the mac an cheese was perfection! oh and the spicy bbq sauce (not to worry a more typical portland pallet will indulge in it’s well balanced, robust and flavorful tang, not a heat type spice)!!!
the mac, pulled pork, and sauce together was the perfect fuel for my laundromat endeavors, hopin y’all do add this combo as menu option, out of this world gooood!
don’t usually do piedmont carts (too spendy), so glad the place next to them “was out of food” for me but not the guys behind me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
can’t wait to try all of JJ’s bbq and sides! i will definitely be back and sending everyone i know for a peace of the real heart of Lousiana!!!

JJ's is absolutely delicious! We sampled four meats, collards, corn, and corn bread --we'll be back! Generous portions and delicious, served with kindness. Perfect dinner before a Portland Bangers game!
