Such amazing ice cream, we love it! The only issue is that they have stopped serving our favorite/the best flavor ever at this location, purple ube. If it comes back this is an easy 5 star review. Until then, we weep. The seasonal flavors can be very good too.

Anti dog. Came in with my partner and our miniature poodle and they super passively waited till we were already in line to tell us no dogs. Every other biz on the street is cool with dogs.

Best ice cream in Portland! When I first had Kate’s it was at a flea market about 6 years ago. When they opened the Mississippi location, my partner was so annoyed by how often I’d ask to go.
I was never a vanilla girlie until I had the marionberry cobbler ice cream. The choco-taco is a fun treat when they make so be sure to grab that if you can.
I miss this place so much since I’ve moved. Might have to get some shipped to me soon 🥹💖🍦

Delicious gluten free and dairy free ice cream… like hello?? This place has coconut milk based ice cream, some flavors taste more like coconut milk than others but they are creamy as hell and incredibly tasty, with a pretty large variety! MY GOODNESS is this delish, I’m not a huge fan of coconut milk and worked at Ben and Jerry’s for many years (making me slightly snobby lol) and this place still makes me wanna come back. Try it out!

All the staff are warm and welcoming even during busy rushes. They took the time to assure me everything is gluten free, which was a huge relief as a someone with celiac. I visited with my partner and I, we will be coming back whenever we’re craving ice cream that I know is safe for me to eat. I’ll be telling my friends, coworkers , neighbors, and whoever else will listen. If you’re on the fence about visiting, Just Go! It doesn’t disappoint. We ordered waffle cones and they were amazing, haven’t had a cone in a couple years. Next time we go we’re planning on trying the waffle bowl!

And you can grab a vibrator around the corner and a cat treat next door! This place is one of the best vegan icecream places ive ever been to! Get yourself a scoop, one of those suction toys that are all the rage and a ball of yarn for the other kitty- perfect night in Portland for you and your furry friends.
