The egg rolls and house salad are NOT vegan. The worker explained the “V” on the menu simply means vegetarian. The salad dressing is mayonnaise-based and the egg rolls have egg (which maybe sounds obvious, but as we know, sometimes these things are called egg rolls even when they don’t contain egg). There IS an area of the menu labeled vegan, and includes 1 ramen, 1 curry, and 1 “mazemen”, which is described as a broth-less ramen. We got the curry and the mazemen. They were pretty good! But I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.
I ordered the Tori Paitan with pork. The broth was very bland. The slice of pork was literally 2 bites. It was quite disappointing overall.

Had vegan options, and the vegan ramen was delicious.

Contrary to what other reviews would have led me to believe, our experience at Mugen on a Friday night was one of the most disappointing I’ve had in a while.
Came in to the restaurant and said hello to the staff behind the counter and were ignored, so we browsed the menu while we waited for them to greet us for our order.
While we looked down we heard “FOR HERE OR FOR TAKEOUT” (I put it in all caps cause by the second time they said it and we realized they were talking to us and not the other customers they were basically yelling). We then asked to dine in and proceeded to go sit at a table until we were ready to order.
Customer service past that point continued to be pretty bad. Our food was delivered without a word and no polite exchanges were had. Our thank you’s for the food were met with complete silence which just felt super awkward and uncomfortable.
When we got our food, the noodles lacked flavor and the broth/meat followed suit. The chili paste was the only thing that saved it.
The water brought to the table was murky and clouded, which was unsettling, and the Thai tea we ordered was watered down to hell.
I get that food service is a hard job. It’s brutal. I’ve done it. But you just don’t treat people, let alone customers, like that.
Needless to say, I definitely won’t be back. I hope that Friday night was a one off and not a representation of their regular service.

This is the best ramen I’ve had outside of Japan. Hands down. 10/10 would recommend. I also love the style. Reminds me of a couple ramen shops I’ve been to in Japan.

This is my second time coming to Mugen Noodle Bar and my experience hasn’t changed. Absolutely LOVE the theme of a ramen bar, the owner is incredibly nice and helpful, plus they just introduced sushi to their menu! (Saturdays only from what I believe.) My BF and I got the curry and shoyu ramen.
I absolutely love it here. I’ll definitely be making this a regular spot to revisit.

Got Mugen delivered while I was in Portland and it hit the spot! Great flavoring, nice amount of spice, and felt very fresh even after delivery. I would definitely get this again

Been trying to eat here for quite awhile. It must have been an off day, Staff was very very rude almost hostile. Ramen portions were tiny. Bowl had more bean sprouts than noodles. Broth Luke warm. Practically no flavor or Umami. Visited on Sunday the 19th.

The hazelnut tofu curry was absolutely delicious - creamy, flavorful and a hint of heat. Husband had hazelnut shoyu with a soft boiled egg which he said was very good. And they have Jasmine Pearl tea! Japanese restaurant style seating at a long bar with stools. We’re definitely going back. Updated from previous review on 2024-05-05
Small but mighty ramen place. Reasonable prices. Very limited indoor seating. Some outdoor seating. Delicious ramen. Good for date night or lunch. Not good for groups.

This place is great! The shoyu egg was BY FAR the best I have ever had. Didn’t even know they could taste like that. Noodles are hand made, just like my favorite at ramen ryoma. The chashu pork just melted off my chopsticks, it was incredible. Wasn’t expecting to find such a hidden gem in this small store center.
