We used The Star PDX for our wedding rehearsal dinner in June 2025. We had about 30 guests. We worked with DJ, the manager, to prepare our menu months in advance. She was so easy to work with and accommodated all of our event needs, including dietary restrictions like lactose intolerance. We had one assigned server, John, who was fabulous. He was so attentive to our party and made sure all the food and drink came out timely with no issues. Not to mention: the deep dish pizza is...
the Star is delicious! Pizzas in several forms but we tried all 3 that night - the Chicago, The Detroit and the thin crust. also stellar was the supa garlicky Caesar with crispy crunchity croutons and the cheesy garlic bread on Detroit style bread. yummers! great seating for groups , couples or small parties. nice golden lighting and big picture windows.
Food was good. But after we were served, no more visits until we were done and ready to go. Never checked on a refill of Diet Coke. Never asked if we wanted another beer until we were done. Which we would have gotten. Just really ignored by waiter. And it was not like the place was packed to the gills.
