I came to the Heathman because I’m obsessed with Christian Grey, but I stayed because of the bartender Jackie’s excellent service, the tasty cocktail, and interesting Portland spirits info! I am very glad that I didn’t walk out immediately when a man (who I learned his name was Rhys) was rude to the hostess as he infantized her by tapping her elbow to get her attention while she was assisted a phone customer. Yet, he didn’t acknowledge our presence - he just walked away....
My experience at the Tavern was saved by the incredible bartender, Jackie! I was close to walking out upon arrival. When I approached the hostess stand, a staff member was unavailable and did not greet me which is understandable because she was on the phone with who I presume to be a customer. However, a gentleman, whose name I later learned is Rhys, came up to hostess to reprimand her for slouching at the hostess stand and then proceeded to walk away. He did not greet my colleague...
