It pains me to write this review. I've been coming here for more than twenty years. We've had family celebrations here and lots of good memories. I didn't realize that the original owners sold it but it shows. I'm writing this in hopes the restaurant will see it and make changes because I hope the business stays open and continue to make their famous salt and pepper squid. They charged $5 for plain white rice, which at most Asian restaurants comes with the meal without extra charge. What's worse is the rice was yellowed, hard and old. We didn't eat it, it was obvious that it wasn't made fresh. There's now a policy that if there are five customers or more they automatically add on an 18% tip. I could understand this for larger groups but I've never seen this added on for just 5 people. We usually tip 20% anyway but I mention this so you look closely at the bill before adding another tip. The salt and peppered soft shelled crab wasn't cooked all the way through so we sent it back. They remade it without hassle but then it was a little hard on the outside. The salt and pepper squid is the only item on the menu that brings us back. A year ago when we came it was soggy but this time it was just the right crispiness. They got that one right. The garlic green beans and tofu dish was still delicious. If we return we might just order these dishes for takeout. The server was great, she was attentive and apologetic when we sent back the undercooked crab. I hope the restaurant returns to using fresh ingredients, especially the rice.

I am insulted!!!!! The original orange chicken receipe was not used on my order.it tasted bland and looked different and the salt n pepper shrimp tasted tough, thickly breaded and stale. It used to be top notch in the past now, I had to get a refund. I'll provide

The food was horrible. I went with my boyfriend with hopes that our food would have flavor and it had absolutely non. Do NOT Order the orange chicken or the spring rolls. The service was alright, nothing to be thrilled about in any aspect. I’m really bummed because I remember this place being good but it’s completely tanked all kind of redeeming qualities it once had.

The food I ordered was good but nothing to glamour over. Their service was lackluster, and I felt rushed bc I couldn’t decide on what I wanted to order. Their famously known calamari was chewy but had good flavor. House special soup was mediocre—and slightly bland for my taste buds. They do bring you hot tea with our order; which was nice, but, I wasn’t too impressed with Thien Hong like I was several years ago when I first came here. Also, we left a cash tip and paid with our cards but they still took out gratuity for a table of two - that’s insane they don’t mention the added gratuity for a table of two.

I dont know why my family likes to come here for celebrations. It's someone's bday, let's go to Thien Hong. Someone graduated, let's go to Thien Hong. There's always a bug in the food. Every. Single. Time. This last visit, the fly was in our wonton soup. The best thing on their menu is the pepper salted squid/calamari. Everything else is meh. I would like to stop coming here, but there will always be some kind of celebration that pulls me back. Also, it was so random that they were selling slime at the front counter lol.

I haven't had the Salt and Pepper Squid here in years because I didn't have a good experience last time but now I'm back. The food tasted great along with the Yang Zhou Fried Rice I got. My friend also got the Mushroom Chicken and Wonton Soup and he said they really hit the spot.I guess the only thing that sucks is the Squid is now $22 as opposed to $17 last time I had it, which was probably over 5 years ago. I suppose it's nice to come here every now and then.Parking: Very small lot and you need to enter from the neighborhood street and NOT Sandy Blvd or you go in backwards.
