My girlfriend introduced me to Thien Hong over 25 years ago. I was hesitant to order the squid and ordered the shrimp instead. The shrimp were good the squid - fantastic. Still try to stop by there every time we head towards the airport. GREAT food. Family run restaurant.
Been here many times and our family still find this to be the best squid found anywhere in the country. We've had squid in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, and nothing comes close.
A friend recommended trying the pepper salted calamari and I'm glad I did. Never have I had better. It was cooked to perfection, not chewy like other restaurants do it. If you have ever tried calamari and not liked it, try it here. They do it best and you'll love it. They also do a lot of other dishes that are very tasty as well.

Thien Hong Restaurant serves good food, with some dishes standing out more than others. The calamari, while sometimes chewy, has good flavor, and the house special soup is decent. The pepper-salted squid, which they're popular for, can be disappointing when not fresh, but many still love it. The Yang Zhou Fried Rice and Wonton Soup are well-received, and the Pork ribs in claypot and beef chow fun are favorites. The General Tso’s chicken is even better than before, and the clay pot brisket is a must-try.
Service can be lackluster at times, but the new owners are very kind and attentive, providing excellent service. Prices are competitive, and portions are generous. Parking is limited, with a small lot and street parking available. Overall, Thien Hong is a great choice for a casual meal, with many loyal customers who have enjoyed it for decades. It remains a family favorite, offering delicious Chinese food that keeps people coming back.
