“Love it. I get the V1 or pho at least a couple times a month. Tempura ? shrimp perfectly fried. Light, crispy, not greasy. This family-run restaurant is the best place to dine East of 82nd on Sandy. Clean, pretty, beautifully decorated. Order online food ready within 15 minutes. Great service and welcoming, unlike many other Vietnamese restaurants around town.“
“Amazing place which felt like home to us. I had pho for the first time and it was so yummy. Tracy who served us was so nice and lovely to talk to. She accommodated any requests that we made. Had a soothing bowlOf pho, salad rolls , orange chicken and spring rolls. Do try their lemongrass chilli oil.. yummy and fulfilling. Thanks for making our evening special. Kuddos to Tracy and the happy bamboo.“
“5 stars!!!! We Love our Pho! (Thom) means "smells good" And that is a fact! When you walk in the door of this family restaurant you can tell it's different. Jimmy Le is a culinary master. He is a second generation business owner/chef. His pho is the best I have ever had and it's because of their secret family recipes that have been passed down from generation to generation. We have been friends since Highschool and me and the basketball players would always go to his Mom and Dads pho shop after a basketball game. It's so healing and just makes you feel good like you're giving your body exactly what it needs to repair itself. Jimmy is also a talented artist, as you sit in his small space each piece of pottery, tea cups, bowls, and urban art are so tastefully place and cultivated from local artists. His mission is to build the business of this new pho shop on Alberta and take care of his mom and dad who are reaching retirement. His family honor is incredibly inspiring and I want to support him reach his goal. Everyone has got to come and experience this family's flavor, they really have something special, it's all about high quality food. There is no question it is top tier. Jimmy is a true outlier and everyone please come with your family to taste the flavor of his family's legacy! We will see you soon Jimmy!“
“Make sure you find the menu and check what they are selling for the day. They will usually have 2 kinds of noodles they serve with different broth and topping..What brought me here was, I wanted to come here and try the curry chicken vietnamese pho style, but they only serve that on Fri and Sat..They have family restaurants a total of 3 or 4, but only this location open on Monday..When I walked in around 3, they had 2 options of pho. I chose the pho ga which is chicken noodle soup..Pho broth is savory, clean, comforting, and flavorful. My white friends ? doesn't understand why it is good when I told them. So they watched me eat. And then they finally had a sip of the broth they were like wow. It's good chicken broth and my second favorite I have taste. My all time favorite is still in Sacramento ca, pho anh dao for chicken pho..Price was 16.50 for the pho which is high. The quality of the bowl of soup and noodles really made up for it. During the whole trip I needed something comforting, I was missing my soups and asian eats..Overall it was casual restaurant for a lone eating experience. There is a nice parking lot with free parking. Hope this review helps and let me know what you like or I missed out on while in portland. Thanks for reading. Have a yelptastic day.“
“Their lemongrass tofu, wraps and green (coconut?) pie are my absolute favorites. If friends come in from out of town, I go to Bui and buy one of everything and create such an beautiful, mysterious (some items wrapped in banana leaves) and delicious luncheon table. They have vegan to omnivore selection and lovely staff.“
“I wish I could give this place 6 stars! The Friday soups were unbelievably good. Can't wait to try the other days! The woman who served us fell in love with our baby and gave her free noodles and potatoes and shrimp. It was awesome. They're so friendly and you can tell the family puts a lot of love and hard work into their food..“
“Terrific experience! My boyfriend has been here twice and couldn't wait to bring me. We live in the neighborhood and couldn't believe we hadn't found this place sooner. We were impressed by the presentation of our drinks, appetizers, and entrees. We also enjoyed the best crab ragoons we've ever had (ordered 2 more to-go). Everything about the restaurant was clearly well thought-out. From the dining area to the bar to the bathroom, it is well-designed and extremely clean. To top it off, the owner of restaurant was super friendly and took time to chat with us. We are already making plans to bring our friends next week. Love this place!“
“I lived in Vietnam for 3 years and as soon as I walked in, it felt like “ home” (I was born there but raised in the states) The sights, sounds and smells brought me back. This unassuming no frills family run humble place only serves 2 soups a day (3 on wed) but does them well. Come early before they run out because even though it says they’re open until 4, they often run out by noon. I’ve been twice. Once on a Friday at noon and was one of the last ones to order the pho ga. On a Wednesday we went at 11am and they only had one out of the 3 soups left. Will plan accordingly next time. Anxious to try their sister establishments. I briefly spoke to Peter and had a lovely chat. He works diligently to accommodate his customers and is consistent with the quality of his food. Well done Peter! ????I’ll be coming back again“
“Only takeout banh mi pork lemongrass. Delicious ingredients and the banh mi bread was soooo tasty and the perfect texture. The lemongrass pork was a bit too sweet but perfectly juicy and flavorful. Will definitely need to try the other menu items. Just wish it opened weekends too.“
“Amazing place and amazing costumer service! The employees are very nice and wholesome and are really really funny!! The food was great and i loved the Tofu sandwich which i also recommend. OVERALL amazing service amazing foodVegetarian options: amazing tofu sandwiches which offer great pallet of tasteDietary restrictions: have vegan options with gluten free bread and amazing taste with thatParking: easy parking and right next to the storrKid-friendliness: really nice customer service and offers good meals for young childrenWheelchair accessibility: enough space to do your business and has a handle bar for support“
“I have been trying to try Lua for awhile now. But learn from my mistakes and double check the open hours before planning a visit. BUT, the wait was well worth it. The food tastes amazing and was surprised by how well things were priced for the great quality. The fish sauce chicken wings were straight from flavortown and the pork banh mi was so well cooked. Definitely want to come back and try new dishes. Thanks for the great service!“
“The food is so good here. It's so good every time I go, and I like everything about this place. The utter lack of pretense, the excellent stocks and equally refined seasoning pastes, the friendly and informative matron, the excellent meats and rice pancake crepes, and on and on and on.“
“Honestly, I would wait hours for this food. I’ve been given free food for toddler while we’ve waited and so much care.If you’re looking for amazing vegan options, this is the spot, and if you’re meat lover like me- just know everyone has amazing options. We love you, Friendship Kitchen.“
“I usually try “pho” here but last Saturday i change my weekend lunch by “hu tieu my tho”. It’s totally amazing. My daughter ate a whole portion of her dried noodle. I have the way to enjoy “hu tieu” when my craving comes in and no need to commute to SE Portland.“
“I have eaten here numerous times and the food is always fresh and delicious. I was dining here today and I observed some of the most outstanding customer service...I felt the need to comment. There was a woman seated who was perhaps effected by schizophrenia or some other challenge where she was having a vivid conversation with herself. She was able to order food, but was also trying to engage the server in whatever delusion she was experiencing. He was so incredibly kind and patient with her through the whole process. It was noteworthy. Great job, highly recommend this place!“
“Good service, staff are patient and friendly. Interesting exotic environment. I had the combo, it was good: good rice with bbq pork, beef, chicken, and shrimp; and fresh salad. Big portion for only $19! The Vietnamese coffee was very good, I can’t sleep after that cup of coffee. ?“
“I used to lived in Portland and moved to Salem 3 years ago . I tried so many restaurants but this one is the best . BEP restaurant gave me a great time and the best foods . I never seen my wife eat in a restaurant with a happy face like that . We ordered 2 noodles and one papaya salad . The soups are so good , very delicious . The salads so fresh and tasty , not too salty like other places. If you are coffee lovers , you must try the salted coffee here . Me and my wife tried and we love it .We will come back again soon to try others foods here .“
“I have only been the one time, for now. Had to get the classics on my first visit and 3 for 3 killed it!-Beef Combo pho 5/5*rich, delicate, flavorful but subtle. everything I look for in pho. AMAZINGBEST I HAVE EVER HAD-Salad Rolls w/peanut sauce 5/5*obviously made fresh maybe to order. Crisp vegetables, light flavor, slightly chewy wrap. Peanut sauce was on point, not that sweetened garbage some places pass off as peanut sauce. Real deal holifield. PERFECT-Vietnamese Iced Coffee 5/5enough caffine that I am writing this, not to sweet and rich coffee flavor. SO GOODcan not wait to come back to try everything but especially the broken rice.Thank you Yoonique, you will be seeing more of me and meeting my friends and family. Nailed it!!! Yum.“
“Only street parking availableFriendly staffPlenty of indoor seatingService was quickVisited for Portland's Dumplings week and their version smelled heavenly with the crispy garlic.Delicious dumplings and looking forward to coming back to enjoy their menu!“
“Great pho with better than most cuts of meat. My wife got the pad thai and said she enjoyed it very much. Would recommend to friends. They were also very nice to my 2.5 year old daughter and were considerate enough to bring a small bowl for her to share some of our food with.“
“Just ordered take out for the first time- this place is amazing. I love that you can create your own bowl, as someone who loves beef broth but prefers chicken as the main protein. And they package everything to go so thoughtfully and give you everything you would need!“
“It was my first time here and I would be pleased to visit it the next time due to the great service. I got Bun Bo Hue and the broth was tasty. I love the interior decor related to some Vietnamese culture. The staff was quick and friendly. I highly suggest this wonderful restaurant to “
“Heard of this place thru friends and referral but did not get a chance to try their food until today. I’m very happy, impressed, and satisfied with the Special Sausage Egg Combo dish and Peach Tea drink this evening. Really love the generous portion in the box, the meat is so tender and so flavorful and the side veggie, pickle is so fresh. This dish is very common and can be found at any Vietnamese restaurant, but this place is definitely a step above. Recommended!“
“The staff was very nice. The I got the Spring roll, Dumplings, Fried rice with chicken pork beef and shrimp and, Sesame beef. I loved all the food it was so delicious. I went a few days ago and I am going again today before I go back to CaliforniaI had all of these food in 8 other spots and this was by FAR the best quality, Taste, BEST Service and, GREAT PRICED!!!.every time i come back here I'm making sure to stop there!!!!The shops where I live for everything I got would of been $20 more“
“Wonderful service and food. Visiting Portland and this place was highly recommended. The poke bowls are fresh and absolutely delicious. Many choices are available and we've already been here twice! Parking is questionable but so easy to pick up food and go! Looking forward to our next visit.“
“Absolute perfection. I recently moved from Seattle and have been trying to find the good pho spots here in Portland. Everything about this place is excellent: the service, timeliness, atmosphere, and, my goodness - the pho. The first sip of the broth was like getting a warm hug from the inside out. Wonderful flavors. The large bowl was HUGE and arrived super fast. Perfect level of staff interaction: not too much, not too little. The place was pretty packed when I went, with a super diverse crowd of people which I always consider a good sign. Absolutely amazing. Can't wait to go back.“
“The staff is very friendly. From order to table is fast. Never been disappointed with the food. When they're busy they're super busy and the hassle bustle atmosphere adds passively to the experience (in my opinion). Must try. We will always keep coming back (since 2014)!“
“Don’t believe the half rate reviews — This is one of Oregon’s best places to get pho. Quick, tons of fresh toppings. Take a chance and try some of their other soups and dishes… You won’t be disappointed. Also, if you order a dish with bread, you’re likely to get a loaf *just baked* at Lanvin, directly next-door!“
“Stopped in for a quick bite on the way to a show at the Moda. Best little Thai/Vietnamese food truck in the area! Food was fresh, veggies where cooked crisp, which I love! and had a good selection in the medley. Lemongrass chicken was lovely, tender and rich with flavor .... all served quickly. They are located directly across from a Max stop (Rosa Parks). Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating available with a pavilion, including beer/cider options on tap or from cooler. Indoor bathrooms. Ample parking in lot or additional parking in neighborhood.Definitely will be visiting again, especially when we go to shows on the East side!Vegetarian options: There are several vegetarian dishes offered, all clearly marked with 'VF' on menuParking: Free Gravel parking lot, directly next to food trucks/pavilion.Wheelchair accessibility: Entrance to pavilion and food truck tables are wheelchair accessible.“
“I LOVE THIS PLACE. Especially if you go during happy hour for a deal on apps etc. I eat meat but usually get tofu at restaurants, the tork here is so good- the spices and little charred bits- incredible. I've had the phở and vermicelli bowls and they are both excellent. The portions are awesome and the service is fab. This is my fav VN spot in pdx. If you are considering it, go, eat here! Cảm ơn!“
“This is my favorite Ph`o place in the area. Their food is really great, the veggies are always super fresh. But it can be a bit difficult to get someone's attention if you have a question or just want more water or tea.Parking: They have a large free parking lot.Wheelchair accessibility: The restaurant is wheelchair accessible and has disabled parking spaces right in front of the front door.“
“We found this little gem because it has a dedicated gluten free kitchen, which is a rare find! When we sat down we were greeted immediately by the friendly and eccentric owner, Minh, who quickly seated us and began chatting with us. Appetizers came out quick, all the while, the owner came by the table to make his guests laugh and have a good time. He immediately felt like a friend to my partner and I, cracking jokes and chatting with us about Portland and our trip there. The pho was pho-king amazing! But really, so was everything we tried. The egg rolls, lettuce wrapped pork, and fried rice also complimented the meal exquisitely. Prices were reasonable, food was top-tier, wait times were low, and drinks were strong and creatively crafted! Every ingredient was fresh and high quality and I was able to eat everything with peace of mind knowing I wouldn't have any allergies. In between drinks, bites of food, and just because- Minh dragged my partner and I on stage to sing karaoke with him while he played guitar and made the overall experience feel like a little party! We were only in Portland for 4 days and we made a point to go a second time as our farewell meal in the city. We had just as much fun in the afternoon singing and eating great food and chatting with him about the local culture and history. This place is a must-visit for locals and out-of-towners without question!P.S. you have to see the Pho-to Copies when you get a chance!Dietary restrictions: Entire kitchen is dedicated gluten-free. Even the fried foods!“
“I got the beef pho. Soup was amazing on a cold day. It had a very nice pepper flavor. The restaurant is a very cozy warm house that does quick service style where you order and seat yourself. I would say this is a great place to grab a casual lunch or take out.“
“I'm stingy with 5-Stars, this earns more like 4.5, but heck, let's round up.Winner, Winner on taste and price, i.e., value. The first item is usually the most popular and that applies here: the pan fried rice cakes were excellent? The salted fish and chicken fried rice is one of the best versions I've tried. For certain, it's tops in Portland. The complementary tea was above average, while the iced limeade was oh so refreshing.Service was friendly and fast. Prices are more than fair. Ambiance is so-so as it seems like the seating layout could be improved to allow for more customers. Parking can be tough during peak hours. Lastly, they close way too early for an Asian restaurant, especially a popular tone.“
“Best Tom Kha soup I've ever had, and I'm a Tom Kha connoisseur! The salad rolls were amazing. Got the S3 Bun Dac Biet as well, didn't love the chicken but the shrimp, pork and egg roll were perfect. Highly recommend, their prices are very fair and portions are great. They were very welcoming and appreciated that we chose to eat there. Not enough of that in restaurants any more. I'll be eating here again!“
“Super cool spot with great food and some of the best house ginger beer I've ever had. Perfect after work spot, especially if you've had a rough day. I enjoyed a pork bahn mi with sweet potato fries while reading the subtitles to Dune on one of their flat screens. Life is good ?“
“Tiny hole in the wall Viet Bun Bo Hue place. If you don't know what that is, you're looking at the wrong place. The menu is simple. The food is great. The atmosphere is simple. The cost is great. Overall, decent place to come. But not a fancy restaurant by any means, any not a PDX Thai restaurant! Set your expectations correctly.“
“Well, the food is absolutely delicious If you can ever find them open. Within the last 2 weeks I have gone there 3 times during their hours of operation to find them closed every time. And I like their pizza Box that I drive 30 to 40 minutes to get there hoping that they are open. I like this so much I put them on Google along with a picture of myself, But my faith in them is faltering lately. So if you see tjem open, jump on it. It is dolicious.! But don't be disappointed if you drive across town to find them closed during business hours. So, I give doliscious a 5 rating on their food, but I give them a half for dependability or being able to rely on them being open. I definitely have a Love/Hate relationship with them right now.“
“We love Pho 39! We live nearby and it has become one of our regular go-to spots. For anyone who is vegetarian, the pho with tofu is excellent. Sometimes I will choose the Tofu Lemongrass Vermicelli which is also fabulous. If you eat in person the service is quick and the family that owns it is lovely.Kid-friendliness: They have 2 high chairs“
“A solid 3.6 Four months open now, it was the WW that had me cancelling Din Tai Feng and coming here instead. Husband and wife team at the helm-- was told by kind server that he is fluent in Vietnamese?!? What----- he must certainly have lived abroad. The space is exquisite-- best looking Viet joint I've ever been in-- the menu stationery and rice paper overlay so gorgeous-- Oblation worthy. The ca phe and the food---- so, so expensive for what you get! And I live in the Bay Area! The food and the cooking and the skulls are solid. But I m not sure they can sustain such a high high price point--- eapxaillyC they ain't in Nob Hill or Alberta--- is on SE Ash , with a paper supply store next door.... The environs cannot warrant the menu's prices. With items even as high as $65, and coffee drinks at $8-10, and pho from $20-24, my eyebrows are raised. But Hanoi style food I did try, and the menu has wonderful detailed explanations of the dishes. So cool Bathroom is outside and shared communally-- #02505! PS the pork belly was PERFECT.“
“We were blown away and so glad we stopped in to check out Fish Sauce. The atmosphere is very fun & welcoming. The staff were also welcoming, friendly, patient & helpful. Then came the incredibly delicious food! The sweet potato fries were crispy, just how we requested. The fresh lettuce salad w/ papaya and apple w/ a vinaigrette dressing was perfect. Our tofu and chicken sandwiches were full of crunchy, tasty veggies, as well. I planned to eat just half of everything but could not stop enjoying it all, it was that delicious. We can't wait to go back!Vegetarian options: We had delicious sweet potato fries, salad and tofu banh mi sandwich!“
“My food was delivery so I cannot speak to the ambiance and service. I'm. A mad pho whore who has moved across the river and away from my beloved pho house. I ordered the chicken pho not expecting much but my socks got blown off because this pho was amazing! The broth is rich but light. The chicken perfectly done and the garnishes were fresh. I would recommend!“
“This place is an ABSOLUTE TREASURE!! The banh mi is some of the tastiest I’ve ever had at the best price I’ve ever seen. Phuoc, the nun who runs the cart, speaks very little english but is the sweetest person in the world. She takes her time making each dish one by one and while you’re waiting you can sit or walk around the beautiful temple that the cart is connected to. Whether you’re vegan or not, I highly recommend making this spot a regular visit!!“
“Delicious Vietnamese food with lots of menu options. Pho Van is a regular favorite when catching up with a friend who lives nearby. Their duck bamboo pho is so good (I've never had such tender bamboo), highly recommend!Vegetarian options: Plenty of good optionsDietary restrictions: Options for many allergies“
“Quick In and Out Deli offers items made daily and refrigerated items. No dining in but they do have a high counter if you need to eat it there. I did it this time since I was hungry and on a quick lunch break and because my order, Bánh Bèo (small round and soft rice cake with a good amount of mung bean, dried shrimp paste, and sautéed scallions paired with drinkable homemade fish sauce) was so delicious. Bánh Bèo is one of the staples of Vietnamese street food! Their Bánh Bèo is way better than Phở Kim with flying colors! I'll say 4 out of 5 because the cake should have been a bit thinner. Otherwise, everything that came with it was spot on, tasty, and so yummy! They offer a decent and solid quality of various Vietnamese snacks and street food you can't find elsewhere, such as bánh giò, bánh ít, sesame ball with mung bean, to name a few. There are limited entries with soup and noodles also made to order such as porridge, and fried rice among other things. They cater food as well with reasonable price. I ordered a few months ago a tray of shrimp spring rolls and clear noodle chick stir-fried; they were delicious, cheap, and in good quantity. They do have Bánh Mì made to order. Vietnamese Ham is their specialty; they have various kinds of ham from regular to fried to delicacies such as snail-embedded!Small family-owned! It gives you the feeling of ordering food from your grandma. You have to check it out if you want to see what kind of Vietnamese street food they have!“
“It was my first time trying Pho MeKha after seeing an Instagram reel on this restaurant. It was recommended to try the mì nam vang and I’m so glad I did. I ordered the soup one and it did not disappoint. The flavors and herbs are refreshing and soothing, and love the protein included in this meal. I was very full and happy after, and would highly recommend this place and return again… all the way from Bellevue, WA! ?“
“Food was super authentic and nice. The atmosphere was super loud with music, and the lobby was dim. If you're not a person who likes loud music, then this is not for you. They have a little stage for people to sing karaoke. Most of food price range between $15-20. They don't have a soda machine therefore there is no refill.“
“Pho Korner! We’ve been going here for years so I haven’t thought about reviewing until today. In a town filled with great Pho options Pho Corner is our favorite. One thing that separates them is they grill the chicken / cook the meat differently. It’s so much better than boiled chicken at other places. The service is always wonderful. They’re really fast with food orders. Today my wife ordered Pho Ga and I ordered Beef Fried Rice. With an appetizer of PorK Pot Stickers. Menu hack - use the sauce from the pot stickers with the fried rice. It takes an amazing dish and levels it up over 9000.Nice spot, lots of seating. Varied crowd. Great take out too. We love coming here a land typically make the trip several times a month. It’s so good.Oh, and totally reasonable/ great prices.“
“I saw the raving reviews so wanted to check this place out. The bahn mi is good bulgogi has good flavor. The meat is pretty chewy though, and I would say the combo definitely is not worth the extra 5 bucks. I'd stick to the sandwich. The service was pretty quick and the lady was very nice. It's a small hole in the wall location. I would however avoid this area after about 5/6pm. This area is home to many people whom reside outside lol. As someone who has been to almost every bahn mi place in Portland I will say comparing to best baguette, bahn mi fresh, and a few other bahn mi places i think killer bahn mi is the best! But it is quite spendy for a bahn mi. You pay for it in the amount of meat they give you but still. If you like this kind of bahn mi I'd recommend also checking out an xuyen bakery. It's this little bakery on like 51st and foster but they have some of the biggest bahn mis I've ever had for 1/2 the price.“
